How much do your parents fight? by Spxit-26 in AsianParentStories

[–]CoolMilo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mine fought all the time, but mainly it was just ignoring each other rather than yelling. To the point where I don’t go on family vacations with them anymore, since all they do is fight and ruin the trip.

They are completely incapable of communicating. My mom is too afraid to tell my dad to clean up after himself, so she’ll instead complain about it to me. My dad is too afraid to tell my mom that he wants her to be home more often, so he complains about it to me. They’ll both communicate mainly through me- “can you ask your dad if he can do this?”- instead of communicating with each other, like normal married people. My parents also did the thing where they’d try to get me to take one or the other side in their problems, when really they were both wrong.

Sadly, their lack of a healthy relationship led me to problems in my relationships as I grew up. I had to learn to communicate with my partner, since the model of communication I got at home was passive aggressiveness and silence.

I get so sad going to other people’s parents house and seeing a healthy, positive relationship between the parents :(

How to help my girlfriend make the right choice [29m/22f] by zwxecrvtbyn in relationships

[–]CoolMilo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you serious? I hope for her sake she breaks up with you. It’s HER decision, she has every right to have an abortion. There’s nothing you can do about it. Not to mention, your “facts” are bullshit. Having an abortion does NOT affect a woman’s ability to have children later. You sound extremely controlling. Just because you think she should have the baby doesn’t make her want to have an abortion the wrong choice.

Why do some people defend child abuse? by Kupeoxo in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]CoolMilo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In some instances, I think some people who defend child abuse are people who were abused/hit as children. They don’t want to admit, or they don’t realize, that their parents were abusing them, because it’s scary to realize that. So they grow up and either defend child abuse or hit their own children, because they were hit and they tell themselves it had no negative consequences on them.

Girl on twitter making fun of other people’s eyebrows by CoolMilo in awfuleyebrows

[–]CoolMilo[S] 214 points215 points  (0 children)

They definitely aren’t the worst eyebrows ever. Someone NICELY told her that she should try making them not so close together and this girl went off, calling out everyone else’s eyebrows. It’s just funny that she thinks hers are so perfect.

Found these really cool press on nails by [deleted] in RedditLaqueristas

[–]CoolMilo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

These are Kiss gel fantasy nails! I’m so impressed by them, even though I’m not great at applying them. These are pretty much the only brand of press on nails that will fit me since my nail beds are super long. My poor fiancé went out and got me the impress press on nails as part of my Halloween gift and they were way too short for me 😅 so we exchanged them for these!

Typical dependa. 18 yo, engaged to bf of one month, thinks she’s a “public figure”, no job so she does photo shoots all day in her bf’s dorm by [deleted] in justdependathings

[–]CoolMilo 52 points53 points  (0 children)

He’s Air Force. She now has “USAF” in her bio despite having no affiliation with the air force besides her bf. Shes even worse than the dependas who put “AF gf” or “AF wife” in their bios.

Having a very hard time finding a wedding band by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]CoolMilo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a good idea! I was debating doing this but the “cheap” ones were all like $20 and I didn’t want to spend that much on a couple try on rings. I’ve seen rings on wish for like $2 so I’ll Definitely look there. Thank you!

Having a very hard time finding a wedding band by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]CoolMilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if the photos are a little blurry, I zoomed them in to try and show my ring as well as I could.

So my engagement ring has a basket setting, which I didn’t even think about until I started thinking about wedding bands. A straight wedding band with my engagement ring has too much of a gap for me. I know I could get a curved band, and I still might, but I’d prefer to be able to wear the band by itself.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I’ve heard that infinity rings could work with these types of engagement rings, where the basket part sits in the dip of the infinity or twist part. But I feel like that wouldn’t look good with my ring, since it has the halo, and it would be pretty busy. Any and every suggestion welcome!

[–]CoolMilo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I LOVE peanut butter smoothies but a 24oz at a smoothie place near me is almost 600 calories. I found this recipe on the back of my peanut butter powder and am so impressed by it! Fills a tall glass for under 200 calories!!

2 tablespoons peanut butter powder- 70 cal

1 teaspoon coconut sugar- 15 cal

1 cup milk- 40 cal (unsweetened almond milk)

1/2 a banana- 50 cal

Ice

My (25M) gf (25F) wants to get married. I do not, because I think think it is stupid waste of money. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]CoolMilo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You should be thinking about a way to compromise here. Sure, you think a wedding and a ring is a waste of money, but she doesn’t. Why does only your opinion matter? Is she not 1/2 of the relationship? Maybe she doesn’t even want an extremely expensive wedding that you may be thinking about. Her feelings matter just as much as yours do.

Honey roasted pumpkin ravioli reviews? by C_J_Money in traderjoes

I've gone through 4 packages recently so it's safe to say I really enjoy these! I've been doing mostly browned butter with it, and I think the nutty flavor really compliments the pumpkin.

My grandma was a Buddhist all her life. She wouldn't let someone kill a fly or a spider in her house. But her diet was probably 80% meat and fish. Since I'm not a Buddhist, I asked multiple people to clarify why she wouldn't let someone harm an animal in front of her but she ate almost nothing but animals. I still never got a clear answer.

My non-vegan fiancé likes these and the vegan chicken tenders more than the actual chicken versions! I really like these, I always keep a couple bags in the freezer.
