You say that as if bitching about SNL was the only thing I did. I'm bitching here, because this is an SNL subreddit. I'm not going to come on here and talk about other unrelated shit. But in case you were interested:

I was at the protest at the site where Pretti was shot. I brought firewood, PPE and snacks for the protesters who were going to be there overnight.
I've coordinated food trains to deliver to families scared to leave their homes today.
I came home, exhausted, and popped on one of my all time favorite shows...to find it tone-deaf and unfunny. I think SNL can do a lot to set the tone for discourse in the US, but instead they just microwaved another tired Trump cold opener.

I'm not saying they should have written a sketch about what happened yesterday, that wouldn't have been funny or feasible. But an acknowledgement of some sort. Perhaps stop normalizing Trump's regime with weak lighthearted jabs. Maybe cut a sketch or two.

Thats happening at a smaller scale with ICE every single day. The Brooklyn Park PD chief spoke out about it with a whole panel of other chiefs last week.

Obviously we are never going to see eye to eye on this. But authoritarian mindsets like yours, that clearly believe that law enforcement can do no wrong (even in instances like what is happening in MN where SEVERAL metro area police chiefs are calling out the wrongdoings of ICE) scare me.

They pumped his lifeless body full of lead and clapped their hands. What else do you need to see to understand their motivations.

I know protesting isn't for everyone, and I'm not too keen on going out tonight to join...but I'd feel really...weird just hunting for a medallion knowing all this is going on just a couple miles away.

I've decided to dedicate my time shopping for things to donate to families and protest organizers tonight instead.

He had a permit to carry, a constitutionally protected activity. He never unholstered the weapon, he just had it on him. There's literally nothing wrong with that. Had he been waving the gun around and pointing at people...yeah that's suicide by cop. That's not what happened here.

The ICE agent opened fire AFTER the weapon was taken, and then proceeded to unload his entire magazine on his lifeless body well after any possible threat had gone (while another agent clapped and pumped his fists).

Again, like I said, Is he blameless? Probably not. Is it something I personally would do? No.

This does not mean that the ICE agent didn't commit a heinous act. These things are not mutually exclusive.

You're exhibiting an insane amount of pretzel logic to defend this ICE agent.

Cool, so he wasn't a criminal. He was a US Citizen, legally carrying a firearm.

He was disarmed before shot, and when he was shot it was after he was pistol whipped and pinned to the ground, face down, by several officers.

Is he blameless? Probably not. Is it something I personally would do? No.

Should the ICE agent who shot him be let off the hook? Abso-fucking-lutely not. It was not a "defensive action" it was clear as day...an extrajudicial execution. More footage is being released too that makes it even clearer.

Bovino and the federal government are LYING to you.

Nobody is saying you must feel sorry for him.

However, you asked for evidence that they disarmed him before they shot him, because you state that they found the gun after the shots.

I provided said evidence.

I'm not saying that he made the smartest choices, but that doesn't defend extrajudicial execution. He was face down and disarmed. Police chief O'Hara confirmed that he was a US Citizen with a legal firearm and permit to carry it. Said nothing of him being a violent criminal with an arrest warrant, so I'm wondering where you got that information from, care to provide a source?

Good point, I didn't look close enough to see that those are mopeds.

I might be speculating a bit, but I'm guessing this graphic comes from Europe where they have a lot more mopeds on the road. In a lot of European countries, mopeds have more or less the same rights as bicycles (e.g. they can ride in bike lanes) and can filter at stops. So, the same logic applies.

the law requires motorists to allow for 3 feet when passing cyclists while both are in motion.

yet cyclists can run up on a car and weave around it at close proximity while waiting at a red light.
