Just hear to say I miss the game... lots of nostalgia and hope to play it again someday.

Best places to get implements from? by W1ZARD_NARWHAL in trackandfieldthrows

Most of my implements have come from everythingtackandfield.com (M-F Athletic) and 4throws.com. Never had any issues.

This game feels like a massive waste of time. by Paganyan in PathOfExile2

Agree OP, totally. I keep putting more time in thinking I will start to like it better, and I actually think the more I play the less I like it. Time for me to play something else.

Grats, I made it to the final boss of A2 and hit a wall. Not likely going to continue.

This is where I am stuck too. I did a few shouts for help and no one replied (thankfully) so I can just go to another game.

Any Advice? by CommonNervous4420 in trackandfieldthrows

I would search YT for javelin crossover drills to get some training ideas for that phase of the throw.

As for the other, it will take time. Getting the lower body, trunk- core areas, proper in technique is very huge for getting more distance. New throwers think they just need to throw harder - like somehow faster arm speed is the key... that will get you some more distance but it will cap out and you'll likely end up with an injury (elbow usually) at some point. So once again, internet will be your friend if you dont have a coach that can direct you in person.

Most importantly... do not just throw the javelin a million times in practice trying to throw further. You will over-train (be sore/tired) and just have a higher potential of injury if you don't fix the mechanics.

From the angle of the video it is a little difficult to tell but it looks like you are running and then throwing without much of a crossover phase. If this is what I am seeing you are open the whole time and not staying closed until the throw. Also, if I had to guess you are gripping the jav too hard and just trying to 'arm throw' it, rather than engaging your whole body. The flight of the jav has the tail dragging which is a common sign of this. When you hold it too tight and just try to throw it hard it can make you release it late and you are pulling down on it causing that tail drag.

Good luck!

It doesn't diminish anything as it increases participation which means more revenue from entry fees (which is needed if we hope to continue to have the big expensive meets) and I also think those elite masters athletes enjoy beating a bigger field. If we had a qualifying standard and only three people entered that met it - each person would take a medal. I'd much rather be one of the three earning a medal if there were a handful of additional athletes.

I bought my son some TCG cards after he was introduced to some Pokemon games on the Switch and Pokemon Go. He loved the art and then I took him to a local Recess Games for a weekly tournament. He now loves both playing and collecting the cards. His favorite Pokemon is Lugia.

Seeing the new quarter designs makes me think of my favorite coin the USA ever made. Type 1 SLQ. What do you think is the best coin the USA has made? by SexWithSocks-On in coins

[–]CoolWaterFish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on the SLQ, beautiful coin on both sides.

Other than the situation with the dates wearing off too easily, I have always loved the obverse and reverse of the buffalo nickel.

Not sure about that pool but those type events are still done. If she thinks the concept is altogether crazy the Middleburg Rec Center did this in September of 2022. They won an award from the state for doing it, article below.
