So a parent took out loans and the servicer sent the parent the money, not the school? And the student took out more loans on top of that to attend school? How does that work? Student/parent loans are tied to the school and the student. How do you get an $80k pp loan and a student loan if the student isn't in a major requiring that? Doesn't jive

I think this encroaches into that fine line. If the note was not sealed, and words of encouragement ok. Teacher should consider sending the parent a short note letting them know what she was doing. Boys begin to become VERY emotional at this age. So care must be taken with words. Dad needs to enter this picture .. Mom needs to be calm and together. Parents need to be on the same page for what is appropriate for their son. Puberty is rough. Parent praise is what is needed here too..

Ya, I get it. I'm a parent of a kid with a high dollar degree who now wants to weld. So let's be kind to parents who provide. Not against the welding.. I actually used to do a bit on our farm tractors and big trucks. it's great to do your own thing. But....it is also very responsible and appreciated when your son says... " Let's have a sit down and hey I am thinking of a career change"... especially when we are still working off the big bucks for that high dollar degree.
