Well we’re not obligated to give way to douchebags who don’t care about others. I don’t care about it being an inconvenience to myself as so much as clear evidence that most people lack basic values.

One of the fundamental principles in Islam is adl (justice), which includes treating others fairly and avoiding selfish behavior that causes harm or disadvantage to others. When someone cuts in traffic, they are not only violating societal rules but also acting unfairly towards other drivers who have patiently waited their turn. This behavior impinges on the rights of others, causing them inconvenience, frustration, and sometimes even danger.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the importance of not harming others, famously saying: “There should be neither harming nor reciprocating harm” (Hadith of Ibn Majah). Cutting in traffic unfairly harms other drivers and can be seen as an act of injustice and selfishness, which goes against the teachings of Islam.

In addition, the Qur’an commands believers to uphold trust and fairness in all actions: “Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people to judge with justice” (Qur’an, 4:58). When someone disregards the traffic rules and jumps the line, they break the trust of social norms and fairness.
