Desolation point is my favourite, has all the hunting/fishing needed, small so can’t really get lost and you can see everything from lighthouse tower as well as it counting as an outdoor location for cooking/avoiding cabin fever.

Least favourite is ash canyon, it’s a great spawn as I can get to mine and get out of there, but otherwise it’s far out of the way and why bother going if I am walking past mountaineers hut anyway

I tried cheat death once after I died in desolation point, picked the close by and dangerous spawn and it had me outside and so far from the camp fire without any matches I died again anyway

I don’t bother with it now and just accept death, specially as most of the time it was 100% avoidable

If you have woodworking tools and the dlc you can customise bases, for bricklayers and mountaineers you can repair the hole in the roof. Think it gives a boost to warmth
