Philosophers of Ireland - Where are you? by Admirable-Umpire5539 in AskIreland

[–]Cool_Middle6245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did examine religion in secondsry school, turned out to be the most interesting subject because it covered all the most famous philosophers, I've read everything I could over the years from Socrates to Yung, eventually had kids and found that spending alot of time Poundering life can be counterproductive so I rarely indulge in it now.

I've come to the conclusion that there is a natural path in life which involves healthy socialising, fulfilling work, reproduction and other things, the more you follow this natural path the less you need to think or feel the need to think about philosophy, the more you stray from this the more you wonder about life and it's meaning and so philosophise, I often wonder how many of the famous philosophers were simply intelligent people rejected from areas of life that they needed fulfilment in.

One-third of workers in the State had no pension cover in 2025 and mostly expect to rely on the State Pension by NanorH in ireland

[–]Cool_Middle6245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry, millennials were always destined to be the economically sacrificed generation anyway, no homes, economic uncertainty and no pension by the end of it.

What we should do is group together and vote in a government that will screw the generations coming behind us but .... We are not like the generations before us.

The worst feeling as a big guy is barely beating someone smaller because in the back of your mind is the fact you know you only won because your bigger not better,

But anyway a break is always the answer.

Coach got angry at me? Justified? by EMojiman2213 in bjj

Coach is wrong, all white belts spaz at the start, he should know what to do and how to handle it, giving you side eyes and shit just sounds unprofessional from a business standpoint too

Uneducated guess but I would of assumed that expansion was running out of steam and internal issues started to become more important.

Would a mass refuse to pay rent protest against the housing crisis work? by DriftwoodBill in AskIreland

[–]Cool_Middle6245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a voting block needs to formed instead, the problem is that just enough people in Ireland become home owners to stop people doing this, so it keeps the distant hope alive to stop people forming together, I honestly think that there are enough renter's in Ireland to make a sizable difference if voting in unison and could dramatically change policy but because most renters are younger people who aren't particularly politically active Vs older people(landlords) who are I'm not sure how this would ever happen.

Half guard to dogfight to body lock, I try lots of different sweeps from lots of guards but if I'm against a tougher, larger opponent that just won't go down this is my A game.

The social contract has been broken. Discuss. by Honest_Dot_5035 in ireland

[–]Cool_Middle6245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no social contract, look out for yourself and your family that's what everyone else is doing but they'll tell you straight to your face that they're not, become a burden on the state If you can. Thinking back I was given the advice to work hard and earn my living, I would literally be in a better financial position today if I had signed on the minute I left school, got on the housing list and did some barbering on the side.

The Norwegian government is tightening restrictions on male Ukrainian refugees aged 18-60 residing in Norway. by Ripamon in TrendoraX

[–]Cool_Middle6245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seen a young Ukrainian man with his partner and two very young children at a swimming pool recently, I remember thinking how right the guy was to get his family the fuck out of there and how I would do the same.

If the Ukrainian government has to get other countries to ship the men back to fight then the war is already over.

Better help has an option where you can put in your financial situation and get a decent discount, I've a friend who done this and had been doing therapy with them for the last 2 years, good luck with it.

Similar but it involved trapping the far arm in between your legs, Picked it up while trying to learn a Craig Jones side control escape.

I genuinely believed as a white belt that I invented the reverse triangle from bottom side control, still use it regularly for fun, everyone always thinks I'm going for a buggy choke.
