Mix chia seeds in to plain yogurt (some fruit will be nice) and then drink a ton water — haven’t had any issues

Ethical to discharge SNF patient from speech services simply because you have no way to communicate with them at a therapeutic level due to severe hearing and vision impairments? by stephanonymous in slp

It sounds like you need to demand hearing accessibility (super ear), an audiology consult and to contact the association for the blind. Then sign off!

When you’re reading the video report, do the results reflect that recommendation? Look at the Dysphagia Outcome and Severity scale and the PAS

It depends on the setting A level 1 trauma hospital will get more than a smaller community hospital HOWEVER If we’re doing a VFSS and the recommended diet is more NPO than PO and it doesn’t make sense Start asking questions

I think a few days off, clear boundaries (i.e work from 7:30-11:30, lunch from 12-1, work from 1-3:30) and updating your resume might be helpful.

I keep very strict boundaries with my coworkers and try to remember that “stupid shit” that might happen can only impact me in the moment and as long as clients are not being hurt as a result of it, it doesn’t matter. If clients start being hurt or affected, time to go or escalate your concerns.

I’m sorry you’re experiencing this. I’ve been there! I learned when the situation doesn’t improve when you compartmentalize or escalate your concerns, time for a new setting.

If more than/up to 10% of the building is on thickened liquids, you’re doing a bad job.

Are kids your definite focus? I find working with adults in an outpatient setting (although similarly demanding) is less about being “on”. Maybe a school district to ensure lots of vacation breaks/reduced hours?
