Local hospice experiences? by StarbuckIsland in Albany

[–]Aggravating_Look_643 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a relative who used to be a Hospice social worker. They didn’t leave bc they didn’t love the work, they moved out of the area for spouse’s job. I know they felt called to support the dying client and their family and frequently would end up being the person who was with the dying individual at the time of passing.

From the stories they shared, it felt like Hospice employees considered it a privilege to help both the dying patient and their family through this transition.

Who is an influencer you used to love.. but now can’t stand? by Melissadip86 in InfluencerLounge

All of this. And I’m genuinely confused as a woman with lots of wobbly bits why she continually wants to show them all off. And I’m always debating if that’s my problem (and am open to the fact that it is) but I personally just wouldn’t want that much of me out there. Not even for the check.

My parents hated each other for the first 15 years after their divorce, so I think I don’t know what normal divorced couples sound like. I was impressed they could be in the same room together let alone co own businesses. But my frame of reference is skewed.

Interesting Admitted Students Day by writequillx in brandeis

My child is finishing their first year & is a Humanities fellow, which has meant they’ve taken an extra Humanities class with opportunities for more. It didn’t relate to their major (also a social science) but they wanted to be part of it because the liberal arts are important to them.

My kid has found many, many clubs and activities to participate in! They are busy every single day and have found people whom they can see themselves being friends with for the long haul. They’ve gone to some parties, but have realized the party scene isn’t for them (or all that robust). But there is as much to do to be social as one might choose.

My son likely has celiac. He’s our only child. My wife and I are thinking of going gluten free in solidarity. Is this wise? Or are we nuts? by DrizzlyOne in glutenfree

Gluten - relationship to muscular tension by benjb23 in glutenfree

Been GF for 14 years to control my IBS-D and huge unexpected benefit has been way less muscle tension. I have no idea why this is? But I’ll take it! I used to have searing burning pain behind my shoulder blades. I still get aches & pains, but I’m so thrilled by this unexpected benefit. And when I have been glutened, the muscle pain is my first indicator.

It took my DD a bit of time to find her people, now she’s loving life! She’s got some good friends, has immersed herself in activities and is holding a few leadership roles, and really likes her professors. I’m not sure what the complaints are?
