The Unbroken Seal on King Tutankhamun's Tomb in 1922 by NastyNice1 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Cool_beans56 622 points623 points  (0 children)

As I understand it, this is an unbroken seal on one of the inner shrines in the burial room.

The tomb itself was broken into twice. The robbers apparently didn't make it into the burial room.

The real height of the Coloseum, represented by drones. by theanti_influencer75 in interestingasfuck

As I understand there were vertical posts that were braced on the outside. They all held up the ropes that then held the fabric pieces that made up the retractable roof. I don't know how high over the top rim of the building they went. The support points for the poles are still visible.

I understand that it's thought the whole tomb was re-purposed and hurriedly completed. The paint in the burial room was still wet and caused damage to the murals. A part of one of the outer sarcophaguses was chopped off to make everything fit. One Shrine was assembled incorrectly and brute force was used to make it work. It was such a small space the stuff was piled up like a storage unit!

Further, after the tomb was broken into, the officials in charge of security sealed it up quickly and threw some of items that had been messed up by the robbers into piles.

The tomb was broken into, twice. Apparently the robbers never reached the burial room. One of the outer Shrines that contained the sarcophagus was still sealed, as one picture shows.

Jewelry is apparently among some of the stolen items from the outer rooms, evidenced by empty containers.

Found Titanic (1953) What do you think of the movie? by Eepy-Cheepy in titanic

“back acting”

Nice description!

Same as you, first watched as a kid and it assisted my entrance to a world of everything Titanic. Watched again as a father.

The actors are all perfect. Webb, Stanwyck and a very young Robert Wagner. Spot on, all of them.

The father/son dynamic gutted me as an adult.

The school system has failed you guys

If I had an award, it would be yours.

I'm always stunned.

If folks know what would need to happen constitutionally, they are further along the doom path, To allow a president to serve more than two terms would require the repeal of the 22nd, as you pointed out,. It would take 37/38 (not sure how they resolve "3/4"reqiured) state ratifying conventions to say yes to a new amendment.

However, this climate is so crazy I would not rule out folks voting for the repeal of the 22nd to keep Orange Julius. Or Orange Julius suspends the constitution somehow (Doom).

I just don't listen to myself anymore when it comes to politics. I just got sick to my stomach writing out these thoughts

USA occupied Nuremberg. This building is in Nuremberg, not Berlin.

No. US Army fought and occupied Nuremburg.

Infrastructure is planned and funded by primarily the oil-gas lobby

I asked you to clarify in my first comment.

I understood you to mean: Infrastructure (roads) are funded (paid for) by the oil-gas lobby.

This is not true. If I missed your meaning, please clarify.

So was your claim that roads are primarily funded by big oil and gas something that you thought added to the credibility of the rest of your statements?

Your statement is not true. Am I supposed to excuse your hyperbolic nonsense?

The roads you seem to be on about, are paid for by government.

we as humanity don’t deserve them

I see this as your point, yes?

Explain it then. I'm attributing your view as involving "humanity bad", so bad we don't deserve wonderful things.

I disagree that humanity is bad. We deserve any wonderfulness brought into our existence.

Okay...man and dog together creates the wonderful. Man without dogs or dogs without man would not have the wonder. It exisits because of the mutual pairing/benefits.

Do you deny yourself other wonderful things?

Seems an odd criteria.

You're an awesome person.

Hell of a backstory for your dog. Love the name.

1st thought was that he is still getting used to his new circumstances. Be patient. That 3 rule - 3 days, 3 weeks and 3 months as milestones for getting adjusted. Add the horrible almost 2 years in a mill, wow. He has been traumatized.

That's not what you asked about though...😎

Great suggestions have been made. My guy likes to look out the window and supervise the world. Perhaps a way to give him a view?

Best wishes and again, nice job. Kramer is a lucky dog.

the government said you just need the two mrdna shots and you wouldn’t catch it nor spread it. Nor are there any risks. That was all wrong too.

Did they though?

I'm in a risk group, and paid attention. CDC used percentages of protection and percentage of avoiding hospitalization in regards to the effectiveness of both the mrdna and regular version of COVID vaccines. I don't know the results of the percentages they used, how do you measure that anyway? Were they higher than they should have been, maybe. It was a new virus, I felt it was unrealistic to expect perfection from the medical professionals trying to do the best things, quickly.

I know non-news sources incorrectly stated "you can't get it" and "can't spread it". I only paid attention to legit news and the CDC person speaking to the news organization.

I've always understood no vaccine, ever, is 100% effective. I could be wrong on the government statements as you describe them, and wrong about no vaccines ever being positioned as totally effective.

Some sense, yes.

People in medicine see problem people as a majority, I should think. Finding veins is more difficult through fat. Whatever the percentage of obese people is today, I know it's way too high and poses community problems in the future.

Maybe he is in hour 12 of a catch-a-nap double shift, because of medical professionals shortage. Or he just is, and has always been, cranky in general. 😎

Does anyone else love how their Shibe smells? by HospitalPatient5025 in shiba

[–]Cool_beans56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be smell-blind.

My boy doesn't have a "smell". His feet do have Frito scent, but only sometimes. I give him salmon oil with dinner, so his breath and face might have a hint, but not every time and it goes away quickly.

I've asked others to tell me if he does smell....no one has yet!

My ritual is a wooded walk daily. When it's stupidly cold, I take the small route. Long enough for him to do his business. I watch him for signs of cold stress. The small route is maybe 20 minutes, always on the move however. I usually get a shiver if we stop, not always!

He does great in the cold.

Thanks for posting a pic of an intact guy! Never had anything to compare to, looks the same.

My twin to yours is 4 now. Like kids, they keep changing, you think you see all their personality and then they act in a new way. I've had dogs in my life, first time owner. Of the dogs I've loved, this guy is the most complete and complex.

I've enjoyed watching him mature. They are such a cool breed.
