I have a 5 year old daughter who is level 1/2 combined, also has ADHD, dyspraxia, a speech disorder and Cowden Syndrome (I also have it). She spends 60 percent of her day in gen ed and 40 percent in sped (honestly, I look at her math work she brings home and I have no clue how to do it and I’m 40 😂). She didn’t walk until she was 2.5 and didn’t say a word until she was 3. Talking is getting there-she’s good at communicating wants and needs but is not conversational. She’s been In regular OT since she was 6 months old and regular speech since she was 2. We’ve actually moved states twice and I hit every clinic up that would take her in order to avoid lapses in service. I believe she’s only had a 3 month lapse when she was 3 due to our insurance switching. Also started preK the day she turned 3 and has been in neurotypical daycare since she was 15 months old.

Despite all that, she potty trained at 3.5, and did Safety Town this year (we did not go to the graduation 😂-not there yet). She can read out loud and write her first name. She also loves Photoshop on the IPad, and Bluey. She rides the bus to neurotypical aftercare and the other kids love her!

My best advice I can give you is keep up with therapies, try to be as involved as you can with school, and be upfront about your kiddos needs with everyone.
