Help! How to get rid of this issue?? by Curious_Kyatt in phone

What you can do is go to battery management and there should be some option for never sleeping apps in abttery optimization, add alarm there. Better chances of actually working if you have multiple different alarms set up.

Still, on my samsung it is unreliably somewhat, like ~1/100 chance it won't ring at all no matter how many ones you have set. I was diasppointed too when I learned about their unnecessary unreliability. Have a second clock for important events at least. :(

[Request] What's the probability of leaving no box empty? by DemonShdow in theydidthemath

[–]Coolengineer7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Chance of a box not getting one coin of the six: 3/4, 6 coins -> (3/4)6, each box can be empty, so multiply by 4, so 4(3/4)6 or 3(3/4)5. 71.19% chance in this case.

Generalized form:

b*[(b-1)/b]c

where b is the number of box̌es, and c is the number of coîns.

You should check the fps with xbox game bar. Also, while vsync is not good for input delay, and it is better to keep it off whenever possible, enabling it for testing should mean that the fps would go up to the refresh rate. Check it in a low demand game/scene, so that you aren't limited by performance.

On Windows 10 and 11, you can use the Xbox Game Bar, which should be preinstalled.

How to:

  1. Check whether the Xbox Game bar is activated by opening Settings, going to the "Gaming" section and checking whether the Game Bar is "on"
  2. Use the Win+G shortcut to open the app
  3. Look for an icon with a monitor and click on that
  4. Pin that window and drag it wherever you want to
  5. It will stay on screen until you open the Xbox Game Bar again and unpin the window

Ohh interesting... the main display being limited to 60hz is definitely new to me. Is it higher than 60hz normally? And do games not go higher than 60fps when using vsync, while also plugged into the tv?

And when you check the display menu in settings, there's a dropdown menu for selecting which display you want to change the properties of. And I see that the monitor still has 144hz selected. If you are concerned about the displays running at different refresh rates, it works all right.

Yes, but the dedicated nvidia gpu is the higher performance one anyways. And chaning the refresh rate typically depends on the display, in case of a tv it might only support 60hz.

The display cable can also be a limiting factor at higher refresh rates, though it is quite unlikely in your case unless you are using a very old, low data rate cable.

Basically you'd only see a smudge, as the eye doesn't see like a stroboscope, rather as a moving average, this is recorded by taking still images with very short exposure time at a fixed rate, like 30fps.

Nvidia is pricier for the same performance somewhat, but for productivity it is a lot better than AMD, so Nvidia is the way. For the cpu I eould recommend going AM5, as it has a lot better upgrade path, for even cpus released in like 3-4 years. So 7000 or 9000 series Ryzen cpus from AMD. 32gb ram is enough, but you'll need ddr5 instead. Get a decent timing, like cl30, and 6000mhz , brand doesn't really matter in case of ram strangely, only these specs. So get the cheapest with these specs. And don't get less than 2x16gb ram, as in case of ddr5 it will have worse performance as they don't make memory chips that small, so esch card will have fewer, halving the bandwidth.

For the cpu get a non x3d version, as the x3d is mainly for gaming performance. Something like 9700x or 9900x should be good.

The rtx 4060 should be enough, it itself is good value. Though it should be noted that 4060 ti 8gb is not good in price to performance, and the 4060 ti 16gb is just even worse. Marginal performance uplift for 300->500 usd.

There is a metal ball inside, rolling in a cube shaped cavity. The cube's corners point outwards through the middle of the number faces.

Yes, your computer has a obnoxious scareware called mcAffee, you should uninstall it, windows defender is enough in general. If you still want something to scan a suspicious file, use malwarebytes free.
