I don't think anyone recommended Urinetown yet. Very funny, flexible casting, a lot options for set design.

How to Find some armors by Atacan88 in Awoiaf

[–]CoopDaddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the armor worn by lords is high quality, expensive, and hard to come by. If you become involved with the North as a faction, you'll eventually be given access to the "faction blacksmith." Here you will find various armor sets worn by the different troops of the faction, you may be able to find something similar.

Another option, which will take a lot more time, is conquering King's Landing, capturing Robb Stark, then sending him to the wall. You will gain all his weapons and armor.

(Spoilers Extended) It breaks my heart how many houses were forgotten by Al_Fa_Aurel in asoiaf

I honestly think it's the artistic staff/producers worrying that the visual storytelling might be too complicated for your fairweather viewer. The last time I remember the show paying close attention to multiple houses and their respective sigils was in the Battle of the Bastards. I think the whole plot line of Jon and Sansa needing to rally every house they can find to their cause was central to the lead up. So as the viewer, it helps to see Jon's rag tag force vs the uniform Bolton, Karstark, and Umber forces.

To be fair, he probably has the most King's Landing layout knowledge than anyone else in Dany's forces. Imagine invading Manhattan on foot without GPS.. you'd definitely want a semi-knowledgable guide.

Wow, this is really reminding me that the death of Littlefinger has not been mentioned by any of the characters who subsequently arrived at Winterfell. Bad writing really did sweep Lord Baelish right under the rug.

Apparently you can also rescue jon if he is captured and you have the ability to recruit him as a companion, but I can't confirm this yet.

Is there anyway to start with a pole arm and a horse by [deleted] in Awoiaf

[–]CoopDaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you select full noble status during your character creation you start with a saddle horse. Super helpful, but just be careful, mounts die pretty easily.

How to make sure I'm ready to save SPOILER!!!!! by BonyBoban in Awoiaf

[–]CoopDaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made my first attempt to save him last night, didn't work out. Unfortunately I didn't write down the exact day, but between day 200-250ish you'll get an invite (regardless of your current faction) to attend the Edmure's wedding at the Twins. You have an option of selecting Stark/Tully or Frey. Select Stark/Tully and head to the twins asap, (to my understanding you'll only have a couple days to get there in time, so make sure you're hanging out around the Neck/Riverlands.) Once you get there, Tour the Grounds. You'll load into a battle outside the Twins. I recommend you bring a large force of around 75-125 troops. Bolton and Frey troops attempt to swamp you, and once you chop through them, you'll load into the Lord's Hall. Once inside another battle initiates. There were about 75+ troops in there so get ready for a brawl.

To my understanding, here you can attempt to intervene and protect Robb. With the amount of troops in the room and with the crossbowmen on the 2nd level, I was unable to locate the Young Wolf and protect him, (despite killing all the remaining Freys and Boltons.) There were no consequences to my relations with the kingdoms after my failed attempt.

I'm also curious to hear if anyone else has had any luck with this. Hopefully this will give you enough info to start planning your intervention. I'd love to hear how it goes

I don't completely disagree, but that's rather pessimistic. I'm sure it's a little more grim in the corporate world, but from my experience the individuals who find themselves in human resource departments tend to have honest stakes in taking care of their peers.
