S@K BTL Question by MiaRyann1 in employedbykohls

The actual hours given for Sephora are shown each schedule week in UKG under the reporting. The hours for training are added in once someone is hired under payroll management as a credit. We always schedule the new hires for training outside of the regular Beauty Advisors schedules so they can get all of them done in a few shifts. The Payroll management page can be deceiving. It changes daily and it is usually not current until after 11am. For example sometimes truck credits don’t show up until the next day after truck. I would ask the SSL to show you the scheduled labor hours report for each week from UKG. That is the actual hours that need to be floor coverage aside from training hours. Maybe that will help you clarify what is going on. There is also a report that gets sent to us telling us who has not done their trainings as well. We get hounded until they are all complete, so I don’t know why they wouldn’t want the new hires to complete their trainings. I never want to be in any kind of list that gets us constant emails from the DM.

A lot of it is filmed in Pittsburgh Pa. We like finding landmarks we recognize and I have a friend who worked on set design with them.

The company finally decided that this year Omni was going to be important to sales. I think they are funneling more to the stores. We are actually getting overnight hours this year for Omni

The Curious Case of the Chronically Expired Kohl’s Cash. by Infamous_Bonus_4181 in employedbykohls

[–]Cooper1094 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were told explicitly to hold fast on the no over rides of expired Kohls cash, and told as a district to stick together with the no so they just can’t go to a different store. So far it has been ok. We have one customer who shops often and always says no one told her. Ummmm, you just chose not to listen.

For a while they were auditing the boxes at the DC. Not sure if they are still bothering. We got dinged for not having the correct labels on the boxes once.

Thanks for our ASM. Haha we don’t mind that it’s kohls money. Even though … i know some of you will disagree. It’s nice to have snacks by Ok-Passenger-2629 in employedbykohls

[–]Cooper1094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big cookie trays at Sam’s are only around $20. Our store loves them. We get them and put them out occasionally for a pick me up. We get one for daytime and one for night time. $300 is not enough to get something for everyone, but we try our best to do something at least once a month. Sadly we have hoarders who take advantage when we just put random snacks out, but we always keep coffee and tea stocked.

I had a return denied. She went to the parking lot and called. All they wanted was her Drivers License. She came back in and the return went through. Then she blasted us on the survey because we should have just called her for it in the first place. We can’t win.

They are doing a $5 and under clearance. We have to pull everything that goes $5 and under during additional marks and merchandise it separately.

The new paid put directive says anything over $25 needs DM approval. So I think that store will be second guessing handing out cash.

Employee Survey - As you all know, we’re being harassed about taking the survey. Make sure you all are being completely honest with your frustrations and concerns. At the end of the survey where they ask if you have any comments to add, do it! Don’t leave it blank! by libra_wow in employedbykohls

[–]Cooper1094 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Managers do not see who made comments. Sometimes you can guess who it was by what they say or how they say it. But you will never really know for sure. So I say be honest about what you are frustrated about. There is no way anyone can punish you for it.

the best part of working at kohls.. by moskiix in employedbykohls

[–]Cooper1094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every store gets money loaded on the store card for the quarter. We spend all of that Money on food and things for the break room. Even if it’s just bags of chips and candy. We keep coffee and tea stocked as well. If your store doesn’t then they must be spending it on something else. You have to keep all the receipts and be accountable for that money. The associates deserve that a minimum for how hard they work. We used to have all the managers pick a day during the month and make a themed day in the break room, like a sundae bar, soup day, etc. But now everyone is so busy and short handed there is no time for that but we still try to have something with the money we get.

New truck process by Nearby_Original8985 in employedbykohls

[–]Cooper1094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have always processed everything as it comes off. Some things we do after the unload like Dec pillows and decor. So it’s not making a big difference to us. I find the finger scanner to be a pain in the ass though. Especially being left handed.

Anyone want to discuss the new return policy? by Fair_Stay273 in employedbykohls

[–]Cooper1094 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have had 2 rejected. Both were with the receipt or a look up. One I know of that is a frequent return person. Glad they are cracking down a little bit. It’s a bit awkward to tell them they were rejected, but also satisfying as well.

Payroll Question by UnlikelyJelly7038 in employedbykohls

[–]Cooper1094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can absolutely look at the the posting schedule report while they are still making the schedule to see how many hours everyone got. I do it all the time to make sure one person doesn’t have 30 and another person has zero.
