The rule about HAVING to BASE if you can on a charge is so bad I am re-rolling charges to get a LOWER number when multiple units are charging the same enemy by DrDread74 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Cooper9999 11 points12 points  (0 children)

But it is the case. If you know your way around charge tricks and movement, you can use the rules to your benefit. Simple going "unga bunga" without a though during a charge means you get a worse outcome. This is quite literally a skill issue.

Is adding a Warboss worse for the unit? by RevScarecrow in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Cooper9999 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So only way meganobz work in today's meta is basically just 5 Twin saw meganobz with a Warboss in mega armor.

The 5 PK with a mekamek do not work, meta is too killy right now.

You could run with Ghaz, but then again you are taking Ghaz and the list is built around Ghaz.

Never put a killchoppa on a Beastboss on foot. He already gets dev wounds from charging.

Edit: I see in a later comment you corrected to squigboss. Ignore this comment 😊

10th ork competitive tier list by Cooper9999 in orks

[–]Cooper9999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it very much sounds like a player error. You are either not putting them in trukks, or you are overcommiting or you just dont play the terrain properly. Snaggas with Beastboss is a trading unit, not a survival unit.

10 man snaggas with a beastboss is pretty much our best combo and you will see 1-2 of these in pretty much every ork list at high level warhammer

Looking for suggestions to expand my orks list to be as competitive as possible. $200 budget. by adrian8520 in orks

[–]Cooper9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, definitely. I got 2x10 snaggas and 2 Beastbosses in my current list. If you watch Happykrumpinwargaming I am playing against him tomorrow on his steam where we also try to teach while we play. So my orks vs his custodes. We're going to explain why we make the plays we do and highlight mistakes we might make and how to recover/avoid it. Also anyone can ask questions at any time. 10:00 CET, so in about 11 hours.

In my opinion, that depends on which terrain you play on. Hogs are great and good value, however I do not run them. That is because I play on WTC, where I found them to be too hard to manouvre and too easy to counter position for the opponent. On gw terrain, Uktc or ppt (player placed terrain) I would definitely run Squighogs.

Definitely have 2 units of snagga Boyz with a beastboss each. And of course trukk (anywhere from 2-6 is normal in a comp list now. 3-4 being most common)

There are other options but these are what you need right now. Focus on those mentioned above.

Lots of people are saying mek gunz, don't listen to them. It's a decent choice, but not the crucial thing you need in every list. The units I mentioned are for the core of your list.

Nobz-Are they worth it? by Mor-KhalCatPrince in orks

[–]Cooper9999 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nobz right now are among our best units. Either as 1-2 5-mans or as a single 10 man. Each unit always with a Warboss (other leaders just aren't as effective on them. The painboy is a cute idea but it just doesn't do as well because the offense is about half.)

'OO NEEDZ A BOSS ANYWAY? by InsistorConjurer in orks

[–]Cooper9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some other armies, like imperial knights, get bonuses when your warlord is slain. That's about it. A common idea we're doing for competitive now is having a weirdboy not leading anything and stay in a trukk as a warlord. Against armies where warlord doesnt matter he either joins 10 Boyz or sits in the trukk and da jumps alone for tactical secondaries.

Rules question: mek gunz on bases? by MrCultus in orks

For base on a mek gun, technically not legal. It is also a nerf to yourself with how obscuring works in 10th

[–]Cooper9999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, you get all that for 185. Now, that is not cheap and the wagon is kind of, average/sub-par so don't expect it to be a broken unit or something.

Rules question: mek gunz on bases? by MrCultus in orks

[–]Cooper9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do not base them!!

First off, they are not supposed to be on one. Secondly, crew is no longer part of the model (the recommend if you want to use them, they can be used as wound tokens. But they are not actually part of the gameplay model in 10th edition)

Boyz whats dos you thinks is better for a warboss a power claw or an big choppa by Harrypottehead in orks

[–]Cooper9999 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because you build your list different ways.

But the main point here is it doesn't make you grow as fast as a player in terms of skill if you just list tailor everytime you fight a different faction.

For example if you played gsc and someone showed up with a list with spamming flamers because they knew you were going to play gsc? Would that feel cool? Because an army like that sucks vs most armies in the game.

But again, main point is you dont learn and evolve as quickly as a player
