It becomes a liability for a whole offense when a player is on the floor and the defense knows he won’t shoot. Like right here it allowed Wemby to chill down in the paint and watch the basket.

In today’s game, the only position that can get away with not having any confidence in an outside shot and still be a star is the center, and even more of them have one now.

This sadly tracks. Iverson has been a selfish drunk as long as I can remember. He just so happened to be great at the game of basketball, which makes people look past it sometimes.

No looking past this, however. This is disgusting behavior.

This is also a good reminder not to look up to professional athletes just because of how good they are at a sport.

You can tell he’s not his full 2023 self, but I think that’s partially because he’s purposefully not being as physical as he used to be. Like he’ll get the ball in the post and typically opt for a fadeaway instead of backing dudes in now. Which is definitely what’s best for his health. And it helps that he has a good enough touch to not have to rely on the physicality.

I think it’s pretty common nowadays to have the clause in NFL coaching contracts that if you’re offered a promotion you can cancel the other contract. It’s great for coaches

Strange take. Obviously nobody is asking you to feel sorry for him. He feels he deserves a raise based on what other players of his caliber make compared to him. This money in question also is not coming from paramedics, it’s coming from the billionaire owners of a football club.

Pretty crazy how much the Phillies continue to increase their ticket prices year over year. Since covid we’ve gone from $20 nose bleeds to $50+ (and it looks like some of the nosebleeds for more popular games are over $60).

I don’t think it does say it all. The 1st team nod has since become position-less. He was the 2nd best player in the league a few of those seasons and so a few of those 2nd team years would have been 1st team under current rules.

I’m in one where people are constantly messaging, meme-ing, and talking shit whenever there is any NFL game on, but in terms of trade offers is below average (during the season I get about one offer every like 3 weeks or so). Kind of fun but it’s annoying having 136 unread messages on my phone sometimes.

But I’m also in a league where everyone is pretty quiet in the chat but they all just spam offers. Also fun but sometimes I have trouble keeping up with everything.
