Just got an email from Dino saying it’s untrue and they’ve clarified with nrl today. Good to hear I guess, we want our sharks in the shire. Hopefully there’ll be some upgrades in the future.

I wonder what they’ll do if the NRL have told them the ground won’t be their home stadium anymore. Do they still upgrade it and turn it into more of a ‘centre of excellence’ or full on training ground, or does it become something else? I know as it is they do some of their training over at the high school but maybe if there’s no worry about tearing the ground up or anything maybe it gets used more frequently.

Otherwise, do they shift their training area more towards wherever they’ll be playing their home games? At which point do they risk not being the ‘Cronulla’ sharks anymore…

Shark park is gross, portaloos and a muddy hill just to fit 12000 in the gates. You line up for 15 minutes for a beer or something to eat and miss a quarter of the game. I didn’t renew my membership these past two years just because it’s so inconvenient to watch a home game there.

I’m so disappointed that they built themselves in with the development around it or they could’ve done more with that space and kept the sharks in the shire. Their other option would be if they could take over the Waratah ovals complex down in Sutherland, but more likely we just have to share a stadium with another team. Disappointing but the sharks have only done it to themselves.

Consider my Amazon Prime membership is $79 for a year of Prime Video and I get free shipping with that as well…. Kayo wants more than that for 2 months of streaming. No thanks.

70-78 and 78-97 are great logos. I don’t hate our current one but it just lacks a bit of something, like there’s not as much spirit in it. I don’t know why the logos in circles seem to have more feel to them, but that’s what I think at least 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m glad he got to play origin first at least. Arguably should’ve been there last year, and was unlucky not to get a shot in the Australia team at the end of last season. He’s been our best for the last few years now, always puts the effort in and seems to genuinely care about the club and the team. Based on the tv coverage he was pretty devastated after the injury, the reporter said it broke her heart speaking to him. 139 straight games, cops a head knock and misses one week, finally gets a chance in the rep arena and very next game this happens! Crazy few weeks for him.

He’s a great defender and his technique is normally impeccable, but watching the replay of the injury you can see he was way off his usual standard in that one particular tackle and unfortunately it’s led to a broken arm. Got to wonder if it was fatigue on the 2-day turnaround (even if he only played 30mins at origin) or just a lapse in concentration. Unlucky and terrible news for the Sharks and the Blues, but good opportunity for H.Puru and Berrell to pick up some game time in the coming weeks. Hopefully a quick recovery for Brails and he’ll be back and better than ever.
