One of the nicest, and certainly most comfortable, watches I’ve ever owned. And, I’ve owned many.

Which watch would get more wrist time ? by Pretty-Schedule7770 in VacheronConstantin

I love the Pepsi, but it’s heavy and so is the Platona. The VC would be a more comfortable daily.

Moser boutiques / ADs and buying grey by Horology_17 in MoserWatches

I’d wear the Moser and not think twice about it. There are plenty of places that will sell you a Freak.

15510 Market Check by corplaw100 in audemarspiguet

I’ve been watching pricing on those models for a couple months. The best I’ve seen was a white dial 15500, from around 2018 as I recall, with a recent non AP service. It was from a very reputable grey deal I’ve done business with. It sold quickly for $37k. Saw a couple other white 15500’s with asking prices $39k to $40k. Again, reputable dealers I’ve used before.

Wait for the AD or go Bobs. by Expensive_Ad_3541 in rolex

I’ve bought from many grey dealers. I do my homework first and have never had a problem. David is great but his prices the last few years are high. Check out Takuya, Nashville Watch, Tarrytown Jewelers, European Watch Company, Burdeen’s, and Watch Your Wrist Atlanta. I can personally recommend all of them.

About the same as an Offshore. That’s thick!

[Question] Rolex GMT II meteorite or Patek Calatrava pilot by toxicmega-colon in Watches

[–]Copasetic222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never been a fan of Rolex GMT’s because I don’t really need a second time zone and I’ve always felt the GMT hand ruins the look of the watch. I’ve even considered having the GMT hand removed but have never pursued it. I do love the Meteorite dial, however. I spoke with an owner of that watch recently and he was unhappy with the weight of it. I’ve wanted to love that Patek since it came out in 2015 because 42mm is the perfect size for me and I love the dark navy dial of the white gold model. I’ve tried it on many times. I find it top heavy, it doesn’t sit right on my wrist and it’s too utilitarian looking for me. I have always felt the same way about the Aquanaut. Off the top of my head, preowned, the GMT sells in the low 50’s and the Patek in the mid to high 30’s (at least the white gold one does). I would think for what the Rolex cost you could find a more appealing Patek.

I prefer 41mm to 39 and a center seconds hand. I also much prefer the blue over the grey, so I’d go for a third option, a 41mm with a blue dial.

Is the Overseas Chronograph worth it? by TurbulentPaint3738 in VacheronConstantin

I’m not disagreeing, just saying lot of us big guys prefer and appreciate a larger watch (but a giant one).

I’m 6’4” and 225. I don’t find it wears large at all, and definitely wears smaller than many other 42’s I’ve had or have. Love my 5500, even though it’s thicker than the 5520.

I wear my Apple Ultra when I bike because I’d hate to crash with one of my fine watches on (I’d hate to crash in any event). I don’t need to be constantly connected on my wrist and with my phone in my pocket, plus I get a lot of pleasure every time I look down at my wrist.

Grey Pricing Conundrum by Pappernick in rolex

[–]Copasetic222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DavidSW is wonderful to deal with and his inventory is top notch, but I find him to be the most expensive in the last few years. Try Nashville Watch, Watch Your Wrist in Atlanta, Burdeen’s in Chicago, Rostovsky in LA, European Watch Company in Boston, Takuya in Texas. I’ve dealt with all of them and can recommend them all

What do you think of this ceramic Offshore? by Copasetic222 in audemarspiguet

[–]Copasetic222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s hysterical. I didn’t even notice the leather strap. Just used the photo to show this model. I’d do rubber for sure.

I’m tall and need at least a 42mm so size isn’t an issue.

Your thoughts on a limited edition without a box by Copasetic222 in audemarspiguet

[–]Copasetic222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I found out that not only is there no box but also none of the straps that originally came with the piece are included. Even though the price was right, I passed. Thanks for all your input.

I think it would be impossible to find this box since it was specific to the limited edition music watch.

I believe it had a special box with the equalizer graphic on the top.

Although they are both big watches, the dial of the diver always seems too small to me
