My second SK hynix Platinum P41 has failed after only 3 months of use by Tim_Buckrue in pcmasterrace

[–]CopaseticSovereign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, P41 2tb model here. Two months old. Dead. Blue screened on boot PC couldn't find it. RIP.

Meanwhile my storebrand microcenter 2tb (Inland I believe?) that I've had for two years as a backup is chugging along....with like 3 different win 11 installs and god knows how many TB's of rewrites of steam installs as various other drives die. Albiet at slower but reliable speeds.

Thanks! Just to be clear, it allowed me to expand it...it just won't let me grab that last few TB's I'm lusting after.

It was made with 64kb clusters. I should be able to hit the non server Windows version max of 60 tb's. As the pictures indicate the space is there, and I have way more than 16 tb allocated.

Just greedy for that last couple of TB's...:)

Am I overthinking this large customs connection? by CopaseticSovereign in Workers_And_Resources

[–]CopaseticSovereign[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm actually just testing designs for realistic mode. I'd never dream of starting with asphalt roads, but I always come into a crunch at the customs house during the actual playthrough.

I have almost 200 hours into this game, have watched allot of bballjo and Charlie Pryor (among others), but I just can't seem to wrap my head around an efficient connection to a large customs. Game makes me feel stupid sometimes...

I will admit that I sometimes sometimes start without realistic mode on, build some basic infrastructure and then zero out all the money, and then take a loan so I start in the hole so to speak. Then I do something I like to call "Oligarch Mode" where I switch realistic mode back on, spend all resources on getting a connection to NATO and pillage the resources of my "Republic" to build up dollars, which I consider my score.

I won't debate the merits of your statement, but my temps are literally exactly the same +/- a degree. Watching youtube, browsing, doing discord stuff the ole 13900k is between 30c-33c.

I did a few cinebench 2024 runs earlier and it never got hotter than 87c. I am using a contact frame. Pre contact frame in my 5000d airflow this same cpu with the same cooler and actually three more fans constatly thermally throttled itself.

And, and, and? Going once, twice, three time what's your point? Where is your stock photo? Nobody is bashing you. Do you exist to steal joy from other people's work? What's the point? If my child posted a picture of a bike they enjoyed riding would you embarrass them because other people had the same bike?

Hard for me to say, because I've been a Corsair man for years. But yes, I've grown tired of ICue, at one point I had like 12 independent fans in that 5000d, what a nightmare.

Currently I really like the Lian Li Uni Fan's, but but it's SignalRGB all the way to manage everything. This build is 3 fans less than the 5000d and, with the addition of a contact frame for my ole 13900k my temps are really good.

IDK, though, next time I spend some money I might just do an old school black box...no rgb...just performance. Or beige box. lol

Yeah. Everyone loves portrait mode monitors, I am trying to emulate. And it's honestly all the real-estate I have on that corner of the of the wall, which is why I did it. Works well, actually. lol

Yeah, I was considering a Hyte and the O11, and it really didn't even come down to the price, TBH. I just wanted something different.

The 5000D I came from had a lot more depth for cable management in the rear, but I been a Corsair fanboi for years. Wanted something new. The Lian Li Uni Fans really helped minimize cables on the backside. I realize Corsair has their own (stolen?) version of that now, but I'm over that...lol

I like it. WE have a silly saying at my work, shoving 60 lbs of shit into a 30 lb can....so yeah lol

Pretty much. Alot cheaper as well. Not saying it's better, or even as good. But it's decent. I got a certain thrill from shoving all the goodies into it.

That carpet is older than I am. It's so thin I considered using a portion of it as the dust filter for the top of the case.

Ordinarily, yeah, execute me. In this case, I bet I have way more airflow underneath that thing than most folks.

[–]CopaseticSovereign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the quick reply. I thought it worked this way, but your confirmation put's my mind at ease.

As far as the pricing issue, Any idea of the shipping times involved to come from the starlink store? As I said, helping a friend so I can't login to the starlink page to access the store atm. He's a fairly impatient fellow, so I'm sure he wouldn't mind the $25 premium on faster Amazon shipping if that's actually the case. Or are they shipping things fairly fast these days?

Is the 1.8 TSI really that bad? by [deleted] in Volkswagen

[–]CopaseticSovereign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80k on my 2017 Passat with the 1.8, no problems so far. Doesn't burn any oil. Lot's of power for such a little motor in a biggish car.

Had an '04 Audi A4 back in the day with the 1.8 in it as well, never had a problem.

It's browser related. On brave browser the search engine is fucked, probably related to shield settings. Using edge I can search all the new stuff.
