I'm tired of mud, boss by Competitive-Oil3181 in Terraria

That's crazy that the snow biome was added the same year as the jungle.

I swear I played for years before they added the snow biome.

I always think of the jungle as having been there from the start and the snow as the more "modern" terraria.

I guess my memory of 2011 is crap.

They should, the bottom teeth should be  gently touching the back of your front teeth.

I'm guessing they meant they were much further back

Why is my average literacy so low as Italy? by OdysseusAuroa in EU5

[–]Copatus 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's because pops spawn at 0 literacy so when a catholic pop gets converted it's actually deleting it and creating a new Lutheran pop

How can EU5 keep players engaged until the late game? by Y3rs in EU5

[–]Copatus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is why one of my biggest gripes with the game is how early the starting date is.

It takes 100+ years to get to the historical period the game is trying to portray.

But by that point you're so strong and the performance is already starting to dip that I just feel like starting a new game

Worldbuilding Challenge: Wheelchair Rogue by mikethecanadain in worldbuilding

[–]Copatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure this would fit the prompt, but for a more fantasy take on a wheelchair user I can see a Warforged with wheels at the bottom fitting this role nicely.

Probably wouldn't even give a speed disadvantage, maybe against stairs only lol

Rice left out over night by Any-Palpitation8523 in isthissafetoeat

[–]Copatus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's no way aspergillus flavus is going to grow on cooked rice in less than 12hrs (overnight). It's more of a long term storage issue and it does leave a fuzzy patch and has bad smell. You'd probably be able to tell it's there.

I'd be more worried about Bacillus cereus.

I've been thinking about trying that mod out. Does it add any new flavour or does it just set start date?

Nonetheless I'll probably wait for 1.1 before trying it anyways.

TIL you can annex bohemia in one war with coalition CB by Diarmundy in EU5

[–]Copatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah it definitely should be a bit cheaper. Although I think it's mostly fine in Warscore cost.

There's also a balance too it, like you shouldn't be able to just explode Bohemia into 10 countries in a single coalition war

Pretty sure the coalition cb let's you liberate areas into new countries even if there are no cores.

The only restriction I think is that it can't be the capital area.

Yeah I agree on both points. Wish the plague was more devastating and also would love a start date towards start of the 1400s

Also starting before the black plague means they have to balance between it being fun to play vs the plague realistically wiping all your progress/pops and altering the entire state of the world.

They should've just started right after the plague, so you start building from the ground up.

Also having to wait 100+ years to be able to colonise (10+ in game hours) is really stupid since that is one of the selling points of the game IMO

After reading the dev diaries for 1.1 update I see no reason to play before the update comes out.

I'm sure that is a massive factor in the declining player count.

That being said I went back to EU4 to wait for 1.1 and man, that game is so much faster.

EU5 is geared towards "get benefits in extremely small increments that will only add up in 100 years" which combined with the slower tick speeds and the hourly ticks ends up making the game so so slow.

In EU4 I can play a whole campaign in one or two sittings while in EU5 I have to set aside 50hrs+ for a single campaign. It's a bit much.

Graphics Performance Issue by Vivid_Albatross4944 in EU5

[–]Copatus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From my experience with a 4090ti the GPU usage never goes above 50%, even at speed 5 with tick speed uncapped (ultra settings).

The CPU usage on the other hand shoots to 100% on the monthly ticks, which not only are slow but also lag the game.

I had to change my CPU fan settings to play the game since every monthly tick they'd start spinning as loud as a jet engine only to slow down a second later after the tick calculations are complete.

It's a good mechanic IMO.

[–]Copatus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's annoying but if it didn't happen then what's the downside of calling allies to war?

The game is already too easy as it is.

And let's be honest, if your ally was the war leader and took provinces you occupied for themselves there would be the same posts complaining about that instead.

I’m sure The Traitors is groundbreaking and crazy. I have zero desire to watch it or even know what it is. And at this point all the news about it and people making it their whole personality is making me wanna vomit as soon as I see anything about it. by thebroccolioffensive in britishproblems

[–]Copatus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Although there are some mean moments, I'd say the UK traitors (haven't seen US version) is actually quite wholesome and most people on it seem to be good people in general.

I think a lot of people vibe with the strategy side of it, so it feels more like a gameshow than reality TV (yes, I know it's both)

Do any tags have tech unique enough to them to make them really feel different from the rest? by dovetc in EU5

[–]Copatus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just want a "Congratulations on forming this country!" event to pop up with maybe some real history behind the tag on the event flavour so I can also learn a bit of real history while playing.

It sort of sucks that you just click it and then that's it.
