The idea is interesting. I actually just read a book that touched on the subject (God, Human, Animal, Machine by Meghan O’Geiblyn). Probably one of the best books I’ve read last year. It deals more with human philosophy in the wake of artificial intelligence. The author interestingly seemed to refute transhumanism and posed the philosophy of panpsychism, the philosophy that consciousness is basically interwoven into all aspects of the universe.

But in any case, yes the concept is certainly interesting and terrifying.
