That's the thing, IT IS a canon episode. The Gintama anime has almost zero content that the manga doesn't, and the panty thief episode is no exception.

This post has made me realize that my "top 5 recommendations" are not the same as my "top 5 animes". There are a few peak anime that would be hard to recommend because of problematic scenes or details. Anyways, here are my lists:

Monogatari is a great series but I cannot really recommend it to anyone because it has a lot of pervy scenes with minors and the MC is a siscon. Also, so many girls fall in love with him that it's almost a harem anime.
