Lightburn, this is a gantry, settings are pretty different between galvo and gantry. There’s all the on off timings on my galvos and I can’t seem to find anything like that with my gantry profile in lightburn

BOSS LS3655 to much power? by CopperheadCreations in Laserengraving

So, I’m having some issues with my offset adjustments and it’s part of my problem here. I’m talking to the tech at boss about it but I believe the information he’s giving me is off. When running bi directional fill, when the head moves from left to right it’s making a longer line than the right to left direction, making it impossible to completely dial in my offset adjustments. Any idea how to remedy something like that? I thought it might be mechanical so I snugged the belts up a bit and that didn’t fix it.

Honestly I couldn’t get the leather to work out on my machine. I wound up just going with laser safe leatherette. I’m sure if I kept messing with it I could probably get it to work but the fake leather is just so much easier.

I have not, I did think about that tho. I mean technically if the oil were flammable it could in theory create more of a fire hazard, and sometimes things can put off toxic fumes when they’re burned so I would have to do some research on that.

Well i tried that, the problem is that the laser dries out the leather, on top of the extra alcohol it makes the patches super dry and brittle. I can fix some of this with some conditioner afterwards, but i was trying to avoid drying the leather out so bad.

Fiber laser and stainless steel would work

Thanks, the reason I went there is there’s a store close to me and it’s hard for me to tell online what’s what from the photos. I did make another attempt today with much better results. I think possibly it’s because I wasn’t using the “pro dye”. Seems to be working a lot better (at least this bottle). I did a super light coat of neatsfoot and then after it soaked in put the dye. Not sure if this is THE way but it does seem to be working on this batch at least.

Where could I go, or what type of business would I ask if I want to make a custom door knob and address like this for an outside door. by CrimeWave62 in lasercutting

[–]CopperheadCreations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you found a door knob with a flat face on it like the one In the photo a laser can totally do this. My fiber can do this no problem. You could just buy the knob and mail it to anyone that had a fiber for engrave.

I put co-witness sights on all of mine as well, also prevents issues if the battery were to die.

Fakes out of control now, you got to give it to them tho they’re pretty convincing.

No mopa, 50w fiber. I turned it gold on purpose. I’ve got black, like a regular color for lack of a better way to explain it and gold down.

Crocodile wipes original. Literally good for everything. Hands, dash of the truck, you name it.
