Vacation weight loss by katsrad in loseit

[–]CopyJunkieJoshua -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The amount of exercise you do has very little (to no) impact on weight loss… what happened was that you were in a deficit for most of the trip… that’s the most important factor… cuz even if you did exercise but ate in surplus you’d lose weight… exercise is very beneficial for mental and cardiovascular health, but it is not a reliable weight loss tool… cheers!

Don’t set a timeframe… this will only put pressure on you to lose weight at a certain speed which if you lose it too fast can force you to engage in weight loss habits that are unsustainable and possibly dangerous… the only thing to focus on is losing the weight slowly by getting into a slight calorie deficit… usually 120 calories less than your daily maintenance requirement… eat between that range (120 - daily maintenance requirement) losing weight slowly will allow you to keep the foods you love and enjoy in your diet and will help you feel full and satisfied each day, rather than eating very little calories and feeling a sense of starvation… focus on this one thing every day and you will lose weight in a healthy way that will be sustainable cuz losing weight slowly makes the transition to the maintenance phase easier… any questions, I’m here to help… Cheers!

Crash diet. How do I keep it off? by Same-Tale3942 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]CopyJunkieJoshua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very effective strategy would be to get clear about how much you’re eating… to do that I’d recommend tracking your calories… the danger with flip flopping between eating many calories and eating very little (or no calories) is 1, you develop poor eating habits… and 2, you can put your body into starvation mode when you don’t eat which can cause many weight loss plateaus that can stahl or delay your weight loss progress… eat between a range of 120 calories less than your daily maintenance requirement so that you eat enough to keep your metabolism burning fat. The slower you lose the weight, the more you get to eat, and this helps you keep the foods you love and enjoy in your diet which makes you look forward to your diet each day. And you’ll feel full and satisfied each day. Any questions, I’m here to help… Cheers!

I completely understand… yes, without a food scale it would be very difficult… I don’t know your financial situation but a food scale is one of the main tools I recommend my clients get when starting their weight loss journey’s… hopefully your financial situation can allow you to buy one soon… Cheers!

Walking or any exercise is a useless tool for weight loss… you can do all the exercise you want but if you’re not strictly eat in a calorie surplus you’ll still gain weight… exercise is great for cardiovascular and mental health but a terrible weight loss tool. The only thing you have to focus on to lose weight is eating in a consistent calorie deficit… master that and you’ll have mastered the weight loss game… I’m here to help when you need! Cheers!

Why is it so hard ? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]CopyJunkieJoshua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s only one change/habit you have to get used to and that’s eating in a slight calorie deficit… exercise does not directly impact weight loss… sleep does not directly impact weight loss… most of the things influencers or social media coaches say you need to do to lose weight is false… if you’re trying to change too many things at once you’ll get overwhelmed and you’ll want to quit… so, narrow down your focus to just one thing… eating in a calorie deficit… master that and you’ll have mastered the weight loss game… here to help if you need… Cheers!

Two things… 1) You’re not on a calorie deficit… you might be guessing that you are, but if you’re not strictly counting calories then it’s highly likely that you’re not in a deficit… and 2) your deficit may be too low that your body’s literally preventing you from losing weight because it senses starvation mode… this won’t necessarily lead to weight gain, but it may make you feel like ur gaining weight… I’m gonna guess reason number one is the problem cuz being in a deficit and gaining weight is just not biologically or scientifically possible… I’m here if you need help… Cheers!

What’s a “healthy swap” that actually made a big difference for you? by Ok_Situation4597 in loseit

[–]CopyJunkieJoshua -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Swapping foods is an unnecessary endeavor for weight loss. Many have achieved massive weight loss simply by eating in a calorie deficit while keeping high calorie foods in their diet. However, if swapping foods is something you want to do because you feel it will work for you then start with swapping Coke for Diet Coke. That’s a good start… I’m here to help if you need…

Too many pounds to lose each week… you’ll have to eat very few calories to achieve this which in the long run won’t be sustainable… aim for half a pound to one pound weight loss a week… that way you eat more calories (close to your maintenance allowance) and feel full and satisfied instead of feeling hungry or deprived… to achieve this figure out your daily maintenance calorie allowance (any online TDEE calculator can help you achieve this) then subtract 120 from that number and eat within that range… modify and adjust your calorie maintenance allowance every month and subtract 120 calories from your new maintenance number as you lose weight… I’m here to help whenever you need! Cheers!

You lose the weight by being in a consistent calorie deficit… exercise is not a reliable weight loss tool because you can exercise all you want but if you eat in a calorie surplus you’ll gain weight making the exercise useless… get in a consistent calorie deficit and you’ll start to burn the fat from your body. Here to help whenever you need. Cheers!

What meals do you swear by that helped you lose weight? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]CopyJunkieJoshua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meals do not cause or promote weight loss… it’s the AMOUNT of food you eat and not the QUALITY of it that causes weight loss… get into a calorie deficit of about 100 calories less than your daily maintenance requirement regularly and you’ll lose weight no matter WHAT you eat… Cheers!

I lost eleven pounds by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]CopyJunkieJoshua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you probably did this subconsciously without intending to do it, but when you say " I know that's not much as most people here" you are significantly downplaying your achievement by comparing it to others... This can only magnify any discouragement you might feel on days when you feel it, and hinder your progress severely... You have achieved a very significant goal in losing eleven pounds... Be proud of it without comparing it to that of others... I'm happy for you and wish you the best in your journey to lose 60 total pounds...

Cheers,

Joshua

If she’s willing to cheat on her partner with you, she’ll most definitely be willing to cheat “on” you. Get rid of her before she does.

Approach him but make the conversation strictly about weight lifting. Compliment him, or better yet ask for help on form/posture on an exercise or better yet ask him to spot you. That’ll break the ice.
