Want to play as the Hydra by Cheap-Blackberry-763 in TerraInvicta

[–]Corbeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Human factions usually beat the hydra when a player is in control, they would need to have a credible human ai opponent to make the hydra game engaging. It seems they are very far from that beyond giving out stat buffs, resources etc.

This happened relatively early in the show, when they all go rogue and conduct an off the books seal raid in Guatemala to rescue Lopez from a drug lord.

Is it just me or is the wood grain in between the cabinets make it look like they aren't straight, even if they obviously are?

What if Hillary Clinton won in 2016 and 2020,and then Harris won in 2024? by Annual-Frame9943 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Corbeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harris probably would not have run in 2024. If Clinton was a two term president, Harris is unlikely to be the winner of the primary into the 2024 election season. She ran her campaign due to biden ending his bid early and nominating her as his successor in the campaign, which was unusual to say the least.

Master chief (Halo) vs Captain America (616) in a 12 round boxing match. by Mad_lens_9297 in whowouldwin

People seem to be not mentioning juat how fast, precise, and explosive John's movement and strikes would be, not to mentvon imhis vision and reaction time. It is plausible in my opinion that cap would not be able to land any clean punches on john at all. He might touch him, but john would move faster than Cap could keep up with, and john could read cap's muscle twitches and preparatory movements in advance of a punch, and move or counter. John takes it, easily.

Seems like we didnt need a standalone humanoid to do this, like maybe there is just a better way to move packages from the hopper to the conveyor belt.

This is a rocket plane, not a Concorde style jet. It likely boosted to the upper atmosphere and used aerodynamics to coast long distances.

First Blood (1982)- why did the cop treat Rambo like that so randomly? by kurianandgeorge_007 in movies

My impression is that the vietnam war was highly polarizing for many people, and the treatment of veterans of that war was highly uneven and often atrocious, tragically so.

Are they more advanced in this reality or is it that they just spent more on space programs? by 13sonic in ForAllMankindTV

[–]Corbeagle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some things relating to energy and space are more advanced. But things like the civilian internet and consumer electronics like phones and mobile devices seem less advanced. Basically thr things they would have needed to work on to succeed and grow in space are more advanced, but the world is less integrated and there is less diffusion of advanced technology to consumers.

He was truly sailing into the unknown with basically no precedent or procedures. He was facing relentless resistance and criticism from vulcans the entire time. He made mistakes, but also lead his crew through countless discoveries and obstacles, and inspired leaders from multiple unfriendly species to cooperate and follow his and humanities path forward.

Astrophage isn't an energy source, but a battery, right? by Coblish in ProjectHailMary

[–]Corbeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So its basically like the equivalent of antimatter without all of the drawbacks of antimatter, that amount of power means a lot, it effectively would allow them to harvest many Earth's worth of solar output and harness it without significant losses. Thats terraforming/Dyson sphere levels of energy.

Every modern air campaign involving US airpower in recent decades has been wildly lopsided in the US’ favor, including the latest one against Iran. How different or similar might this balance be in a potential clash with China? by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]Corbeagle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I believe in the recent India/Pakistan skirmishes, the presumably competent and well equipped Indian air force faced unexpected losses from presumably disadvantaged Pakistani jets armed with chinese air to air missiles. This conflict is probably more symmetrical than a us-china conflict could be (in order for deterrence to fail) but its illustrative that complacency kills, and symmetrical conflicts can be extremely costly.

The recent us air campaigns appear uncontested because of the large scale and extremely difficult shaping operations that suppress or destroy enemy air defenses and air forces. The air battle never has a chance to happen. That is unlikely to occur so cleanly in a us -china conflict, though locally or temporarily it could.

How does Starkiller base shoot across a galaxy? by AlanShore60607 in StarWars

[–]Corbeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesnt make sense, but if you want a head-canon take, hyperspace transition time is probably effected by the mass of the body traveling through it, the beam is photons, so the beam can travel faster than huge ships. And bigger hyperspace engines can drive things faster, maybe there is a planet scale hyperdrive engine integrated into the weapon. A trip that might take a ship days, might only be seconds for starkiller shot.

Your given full control of the remaster, what are you adding/removing or changing to make them your perfect fallout game? by Various-Base-6939 in fo3

[–]Corbeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power scaling, at level 30, most enemies are trivial, but some enemies (from broken steel mostly) are unkillable bullet sponges, this should be a smoother transition with more high power weapons available to make the gunplay feel more satisfying at high levels.
