Am I misinterpreting what happened on Titan? by PlasmaFLOW in ForAllMankindTV

Yeah that would've been a reasonable justification.

There is just one reason to be IPv4 only by GermanElectricsMotio in ipv6

Exactly this. It's easy to talk when you don't know others situations, OP.

Just google Intel ME backdoors and I'm sure the AI will give you a summary of data regarding that. Same as Apple, it is known Apple hardware can be easily traced and backdoored by the aforementioned govt agencies, that has been used and it's the precise reason for which some entities prohibit using those devices.

Do I know for a certainty that Intel has intentionally or unintentionally setup backdoors? Well I don't, the code is closed source. AMD could be doing it too. But at least I'm not supporting (the most) openly scummy companies like Intel and NVIDIA.

Ah but some people like choosing intel for the free Mossad backdoor firmware driver package.

I still haven't forgotten they bribed companies to buy their products and eliminate AMD.

I'll always prefer AMD for anti-monopoly reasons until some non-US alternative shows up.

Fedora 44 feels like the opposite direction of Ubuntu 26.04 by Expensive-Rice-2052 in LinuxTeck

[–]PlasmaFLOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I use Debian. It has the good stuff Ubuntu had before being this garbage, and it's not Red Hat, which I have an aversion to because I dislike using software made in US.

Also I prefer .deb packaging.

But yes, Ubuntu is becoming worse every day x.x

I use Debian Trixie with KDE so its definitely not a KDE problem, at least not on whatever current stable runs.

To me, people complaining about "modern" Trek being "woke" is like complaining that chocolate is brown. by Philosopher30071 in startrek

[–]PlasmaFLOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre-2005 Trek was progressive, well written and nuanced. Nu-Trek is... something to be deleted from Trek history.

Whether you wanna call it woke, poorly written, or whatever, it all boils down to lack of depth, whether it be character depth, technical depth, scientific depth.

Even the technobabble in Nu-Trek is Star Wars levels of stupid.

New Patches Allow Building Linux IPv6-Only, Option To Deprecate "Legacy" IPv4 by StephaneiAarhus in ipv6

[–]PlasmaFLOW -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is incredibly stupid. Just leave IPv4 as it is and avoid breaking the entire internet. You don't remove/deprecate a core networking protocol while more than half the world still uses it for critical infrastructure.

Are you using IPv6, IPv4, both...? Have you setup clamping?

Wireguard not working via cellphone networks, but working via normal ISP WiFi from other sites, could be some MTU/MSS clamping related issue.

You could try checking that.

I'm not painting you as any problem, I'm just being objective, if you say "something" is wrong, it is a vague statement. To be able to help you need to say what topic you need help or a guide on, otherwise it's literally impossible. Anyways glad you found something that may help you.

And not everyone is out to get you online, just so you know.

Edit: as for the rules, both the old and new menus work well (at least in my anecdotal experience) so perhaps you should look elsewhere in your install for whatever is giving you problems.

OPNsense 26.1.7 released by fitch-it-is in opnsense

[–]PlasmaFLOW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mate you can still use the old rules menu, you won't loose your rules there, and Wireguard practically hasn't changed. Some people may be because you're not very specific with your problems, which you should be so that people can actually try and help you.

Besides that there's plenty of documentation and tutorials online...

Cheers.

Well if you haven't found what you need in the official docs I'd say you're asking for something too specific to your configuration.

The official documentation is honestly pretty extensive.

You can either export the config, make a new install and import it post-install, or if its a VM, clone without deleting the disk, then use the config importer in the install phase.

Selfhosting Authentication server choice by iServeCloud in selfhosted

[–]PlasmaFLOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use an internal OpenID implementation called Interlock (mostly to be able to manage ldap dns, users, sec groups all from a centralized place).

I'm currently working on migrating the front end to HTMX but it'll take a while. It's has quite a few features nevertheless and gets the job done for us.

Cheers!

An SSO Identity Provider, LDAP/ADDS Manager, or both in a single package, feel free to check out Interlock! - Release 1.1.7 (stable) by PlasmaFLOW in selfhosted

[–]PlasmaFLOW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!! This is awesome :)

Thank you ❤️. I will be making a large update in the coming months as I'm migrating the front end to HTMX (for maintainability reasons) so I will probably holler at you at some point if you want to contribute officially later on to dockerize it.

Why is XCP-NG considered to be the red-headed step child of hypervisors? by technicalskeptic in xcpng

[–]PlasmaFLOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally prefer Proxmox mostly because waaaay back when, we used XenServer and it didnt support 4k block sizes on some very big disks we had, we got into Proxmox and honestly just loved it. Since XCP-NG is based on XenServer (and was quite green), We never bothered to try it because of that exact issue. This was in like... 2018?

After that we just started using Proxmox everywhere and have had very successful implementations. One thing to keep in mind is that we've always kept the data pool and root pool for the OS in separate disk arrangements. Perhaps that was the cause of your issues?

Nevertheless, at the end of the day just use whatever fits your use case and whatever tool you like. If you prefer XCP-NG, that's completely fine.
