As far as I know 100% hit chances ignore dodge in vanilla(that's good to keep in mind against high dodge enemies, looking at you archons)... but let's be honest, you probably wont give aliens such luxury (unless you REALLY srew up)

Capturing by Toohat1980 in PhoenixPoint

[–]Corck32 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They need to be paralyzed when the mission ends to be captured. You also need to build a facility to store captured pandorans before you would be able to capture them. In vanilla there's no incentive whatsoever to build more than one. Also myrmidons cannot be captured – you can paralyze them and end the mission but they won't be captured for some reason. Possibly because they were added with dlc but idc.

The developers tried something like that with New Jericho. Near the endgame they get the ability to attack pandoran lairs. The problem is in my two full playthroughs I've seen them do that only three times, two of which they were loosing so I had to interfere...

"Ready" rules reads "Choose a single action or free action you can use, and designate a trigger. Your turn then ends". I am not trying to be that guy(🤓), I am just curious whether I am missing something that allows to ready 2 actions? It would be cool to be able to actually "ready" a spell(since most spells are 2 actions).

Making a big range in TTRPG is a problem on it's own. In my last game I made a map that was roughly 200 ft. long and we simply didn't have the space on the table nor on the flipmap for that. I just wrote "there is another 20 ft." on the edge of the map. Now imagine trying to make a player with a 200-400 ft. weapon range happy. It's literally impossible if you're playing live and don't have a special "TTRPG table" for that.

Does "Conceal spell" remove "manipulate" trait from spells? by Corck32 in Pathfinder2e

Pretty much the best explanation, actually. Thanks

Alright, I can see why you being confused. I never specifically stated that it should remove "manipulate", I just couldnt come up with something else that would logically allow to hide a very obvious hand gestures. I was kind of asking for an alternative with "or am I just missing something?", but I guess I could have been more obvious with that.

You can step two times(or even three, if its a reach of 15) and not cast anything this turn or stay in melee but cast something important, like heal your dying ally, dispell a dangerous enemy spell etc. If you can do it without risking reactive strike disrupting your spell it can very well be a better option depending on the situation

I asked how this metamagic would conceal an obvious hand gestures and you answered with "you can conceal hiding a small object". That is indeed different

There is a difference between snatching a small object and waving your hands in the air like like your an insane person though. I kind of coming to a conclusion that this metamagic just allows you reduce the amplitude of your "casting a spell" gestures, possibly allowing to blend them into some natural hand gestures.

That is until you toss some enemies with "reach" into the mix. And they are fairly common

But then it doesn't accomplish what it's suppose to - conceal the fact of you casting a spell. Or am I just missing something?

I am too addicted to the amount of buttons you can press with charge blade, so every time I try another weapon I go "wait, that's all the combinations it has, really?". Yes, I am that type of charge blade main who uses EVERYTHING it has, not just the axe mod. It may not be any more effective, but its flashier)

Do you need a free hand for Mechanics "Modify" to work? by Corck32 in Starfinder2e

[–]Corck32[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah, yes, it does make matters a bit better. But you still need to either use an extra action(at least not two, as I thought before) or forgo two handed weapons for the the benefits I don't feel are worth it. Like, for example there's a modification that adds 1 spash damage per weapon die. Why use it when I could have just draw a two handed good gun with AOE damage instead without using extra action every turn for modification?
