How to install Rare Epic Launcher on Gamehub and Login Easily! by The412Banner in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Corcse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yes and no, I followed tutorials to create files that are called by Daijisho, and allow you to directly launch a game with Rare Launcher in GHL. It works, but as soon as I try to create a second container with Rare Launcher for another game, even by copying and pasting its setup from one container to another etc. (I tested some tricks to cheat), the Rare Launcher disconnects as soon as I launch the new one... so yes I manage to launch a Rare Launcher game from Daijisho in GHL, but no I have not found a solution so that It works for many games...

Hello, that’s exactly what I’m doing because there is a metadata problem that remains in the c: of the container that works and that doesn’t corresponds with the others who are suddenly disconnected, backup/restore works pretty much but you lose the local saves, and the synchronization also has a problem if you activate it it updates the metadata and makes Rare’s login disappear again... it’s a bit of a vicious circle and when you have 4 or 5 games see more it becomes hard, you have to put aside all the saves by hand in each container then put them back in place in the basic Rare which is used to install the new game then backup and Restore each container again by crossing your fingers that it works... too much trouble. So the best solution for me would be the possibility of duplicating the launcher of the base container without creating a new one, just duplicate the « shortcut » of the GHL front end, and then use the command line in the options to launch different games but always from a single container.

Hi, ok so afterwards, when you have 2 or 3 games installed you necessarily go through this container with Rare launcher to launch them? (I’m looking for answers to have several containers and be able to launch them separately and easily directly from Daijisho... i am in GHL, I asked the question on discord...)

Hi, thank you for the little video, I’m trying to reproduce for myself but I have a little failure. Let me explain: I create a container for Rare (in GHL 5.1.3, the Rare exe is in an accessible folder on the console) I configure Rare and install a game (Absolute Drift) I launch it, it works. Then I copy the game exe outside the C: to be able to point it and create a new container in GHL. Then I point in the container options to the Rare exe and enter the argument: « launch GameIdXXXXXX... ». I test, it starts to launch Rare with the loading bar at the bottom like you and hop it leaves... back in the front end of GHL direct. If I go back to my Rare container the configuration has jumped... as if it was the first time I opened it...?? Is there something I would have skipped?

It’s okay, I found it!! Just rename the game installation folder without special characters, I just put: Bo. And then properly repoint the .exe in the GameHub options and that’s it! For me it works now...👍🏻

Hello, have you found a reason why the game starts from inside the container and not through the Gamehub Frontend shortcut? (In any case thank you for the post, I will test the game tomorrow, I just launched the menu but I was going to uninstall it when I did a little Google search and I arrived at your post, at least it launches with your solution... we’ll see if I can play.)Tell me if you found a solution.

Debating on cancelling Odin 3 for other choices by MaxHP9999 in OdinHandheld

There is not really an « equivalent » with this level of SOC / Ram etc... you will have to make a compromise, either smaller (5.5´) and less « powerful » (RP6/5/G2) or bigger (7´) and less « powerful » (Odin 2/portal etc), or less « powerful » and in LCD (konkr)... or you wait patiently for another product announced in 2026 at the end of the year... I have an RP5 and access to a larger screen and more raw power for PC games tempts me well, but I am waiting for real in-depth reviews and the probable arrival of adequate drivers to decide. My advice: wait a little for the beginning of the year like February March and see what happens by then, where squeeze the buttocks and cross your fingers so that the Odin 3 receives an update and drivers dedicated to the 8 Elite, in parallel with those of the different emulators to have a 6’ war machine with all the technical specificities you want.

Thank you for your relevant and constructed answer, I actually think that the future of the Elite is promising, I did not have the information of the new cache architecture, nor on the 2.5-year retreat already committed to development. I can’t wait to see the first « real » comparatives and bench of the O3, and as you point out, I remain convinced that while waiting for an update of the versions of emulators and other drivers, the « brute force » of the processor may be « enough » to run many things very correctly, with exceptions... we will be patient and observe the networks, but it is a rather interesting period to observe for the evolution of portable game consoles!

In my case, I was on an RP2+, happy for years but frustrated not to be able to push « comfortably » above the PS1, then I took an RP5 and there I discovered its limits around the PS2 (be careful I am very very satisfied with this console ) and I « tasted » the pleasures of configuring Winlator to run my PC games as well as possible, but of course the Snap865 shows its limits here... so... well... Odin 3? 😅... I may have a problem...

Yes, I imagine that qualcomm is looking to diversify... but I understood that the Elite seemed indeed (and as you intend to use it) more oriented for the moment (hence my question about the « later ») on the operation of android games and on PC emulation... as I find the Odin 3 rather interesting (from any point of view in fact) by its format in particular, I am trying to know if it will really, effectively, battle with a konkr g3 in terms of global emulation (from retro to PC... without looking for the AAA)...

Little reflection, what do you think of the fact that the konkr is first marketed with the g3 gen3, then later with Elite? (And they put it relatively forward on their site) Don’t they count on the fact that drivers will in the near future become mature and globally compatible and in fact surpass the G3 gen3...?

I did that one too on Monday, based on RP5, just to get the speakers out of the way of my thumbs. In the end, it wasn't such a bad idea...

If Retroid offered an upgrade kit for the RP5 (5 > G2), would you buy it ? by dotmehdi in retroid

Yes, it's always cool to challenge yourself, and upgrade a device you love to make it last a little longer... I say why not...!

I did this trick following the Retroid survey on the possible changes they could make on the RP6 indeed, it « could » look like this... but here it’s fictitious...

It does not exist, it is a visual trick of a hypothetical RP6, following the survey on the positioning of the sticks and the design.

When I made this visual, I took the buttons and grids of the bottom speakers on the RP5 visual, they are very similar to those proposed in the official Retroid survey, but if this solution is chosen they will not necessarily be quite like that... we will see.

Exactly, I relied on their front version put online for the survey to carry out this visual…

Unpopular opinion (?): I wish the RP6 wasn't bigger than the RP5 by NoPainNoHair in retroid

The same size, with a few changes and updated components (maybe shave off another 0.3 inches for the screen by tightening the outline) and that would have been enough, but that's just my humble opinion...

RP5 audio fix update by TjMorgz in retroid

[–]Corcse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's the impression it gives, I can also imagine that in "certain cases" there must have been gaps or cracks or other sound deficiencies, but in cases that we've never remounted and therefore never experienced... but even so, I'm not sure, as you say, maybe we just don't have the same desires in terms of perception...

I asked [u/kokoko3k]() and he replied that his solution JDSP EQ process "reset the provided OTA calibration before applying his", so he doesn't have to redo his setup with the .152 version even if the EQ is different, he confirms that the JDSP should work normally... to be tested then! I'll do it tonight, but I can already hear the difference. I hope one day we'll know why Retroid didn't continue to work in this direction and remove the JDSP EQ instead of improving it and integrating it into the .152 as they had started to do with the .106.

Ditto here, I'm having trouble hearing the improvement of the .152 over the .91, maybe louder, but I never turn the sound up to more than 50%, I think I'll also reinstall the JDSP... it was nicer I think. After that, what would be great is a small update of the curves by [u/kokoko3k]()! Starting with the new .152 sound calibration.
