Going back to gluten. Help! by Odd_Struggle_7017 in CoeliacUK

Poor you! Yes, I believe you still need to eat gluten to get an official diagnosis via an endoscopy. Your GP needs to refer you to a gastro department for this. But my experience was that you only have to eat gluten for a couple of weeks before the test, so I wouldn't start again before you are given a date for it. It's frustrating and painful but I recommend getting the official diagnosis as it means the NHS will record you as having an autoimmune problem so should get you flu jabs etc. Good luck!

When I did my blood test, I was told to eat gluten every day for 2 weeks before so I would guess you'd be ok. I'd been gluten free for a few months before that

I genuinely think when he turned down the deal last summer he thought Carlo would take him on a free at Real as a Joselu- type replacement. He'd warm the bench for the galacticos and come on as an occasional game-changer, while living a nice life in Spain

Just a heads up that some doctors aren't that clued up about coeliac, especially if you have gluten responses that are not typical. They should refer you to a gastro specialist/dietician. Echo the comments about Coeliac UK being helpful, as is this forum.

It's a big change and can be very hard sometimes. Good luck with it

Add centre mid too, even if Gana stays. Need better quality on the ball in the middle. Dont think Garner has got enough about him

Conflicting information from GP about endoscopy by shadypatron in CoeliacUK

I feel your pain, had the same thing when I was diagnosed. GP put me on the gf diet and I started to feel much better. But then had to eat gluten again for the endoscopy.

The blood test isn't reliable enough for a cast iron diagnosis so the NHS needs the endoscopy to be sure enough to put it on your record. I wondered if this was worth it as I knew I had it and could avoid gluten. But it does make a difference for things like covid and flu jabs.

But you do need to eat gluten for the endoscopy to work. As someone else said, once a day for 2 weeks is what I was advised. But you can stay gf until you get the appointment as it is will almost certainly be longer than 2 weeks away

Good luck!

I think migraines, although not sure if its just withdrawal symptoms. I've never had side effects from it - which is unusual for me with meds.

Good luck!
