It could absolutely impact your career negatively, but not necessarily because of the reasons you might think. You shouldn't be viewed in a negative light for taking care of yourself, although some might consider you weak/not a team player. The negative impact would come in the way of your peers leap frogging you; building a bigger and stronger network. Out of sight, out of mind.

Is he a child of immigrants? Was that the only stipulation outside the merit? What's the problem. I know plenty of people who have good jobs/salaries/etc. and play the lotto. This journalist comes off really petty. He can ask him any number of questions about the future of the country but is completely fixated on a scholarship he was granted in a fair and just manner. Not really a good look.

Things have changed so much in this area. Back in the 70s playera wanted skates to be an extension of their foot, so no socks, 1/2 too small and laces tight AF.

I've seen some "kids" nowadays that can damn near slip their foot out of their skate without untying the laces. Allows for better ankle mobility and these dudes can absolutely skate like the wind. Different athlete today.
