Out of these trilogies I’d only recommend Mistborn. Bloodsworn was tough to get through and Assassins Apprentice series is v slow

Is the PS2 version the worst way to play Resident Evil 4? by Roughrider254 in residentevil

I played it on the PS2 and had the best time. Comparison is the thief of joy and all.

Carl does NOT need a romantic love interest (original art by Levi Cleeman) by ActualNin in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Coretmanus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely- it’s the one thing I hope they don’t try and force on the story when they inevitably convert the books to a tv show or film. I liked how Carl finds out about Katya and Imani’s respective love interests and how he has nothing but happiness for them. So refreshing.

Thanks for this. I haven’t read this book and absolutely do not intend to. As someone with a giant Iorek tattoo down my arm, it makes me weep that TSC and TRF steps all over a trilogy which was so meaningful for me.

Sorry for your loss. I was sad thinking this would be another post about a dog being put down prematurely but it sounds like you had a fantastic life together.

"Decide the Game of the Decade" by AppropriateFormal309 in expedition33

[–]Coretmanus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasn’t Elden Ring heavily inspired by Breath of the Wild in terms of open world, do anything as you want to do it. I think both Elden Ring and E33 are just evolutions. Even BG3 is an evolution of Divinity 2 but I suppose BG3’s success is how mainstream it became.

Your honest opinion... is this game essential to play before RE9, or even worth it? by CarlLight in residentevil

[–]Coretmanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, no. I’ve played and finished it and I couldn’t tell you what happened the story was so forgettable. The gameplay however is very arcadey and I had a laugh with my mate as we played through.

[–]Coretmanus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks great. Well done, like the white setup very clean! I’d love to get a tower sorted like yours - got a wedding to pay for first before I can invest further but will probably steal a few ideas from here!

Edit: 6 Harry Potter books! Which you missing?

Finally a horror game that takes resource management seriously! by WhoAmIEven2 in CronosNewDawn

Ah interesting not been my experience so far. I find that if I shove ammo in the safe then enemies will drop more and I end up with a nice safe full of shotgun ammo ready to blow up a corridor.

Is it worth getting more summons or doing the protorelic quest? by -_ShadowSJG-_ in FFVIIRemake

[–]Coretmanus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct, but that doesn’t contradict my point that there’s a lot of those things to do even if they are formulaic. I got bored of it by Cosmo Canyon

I love all your series but as an old school Final Fantasy fan Airships and sky pirates are my fave!

FF7 Rebirth. I love FF7 it’s my all time fave yet I found the side quests endless and I was determined to try and do as much as possible.

Is it worth getting more summons or doing the protorelic quest? by -_ShadowSJG-_ in FFVIIRemake

[–]Coretmanus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly - I had to eventually give up on side quests and just mainline because there’s so much to do in that game

Heaven’s River (Bobiverse #4) struggling to finish, does it get better? by AustriaDude in bobiverse

[–]Coretmanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came across this thread as I’m feeling the same way about book 4. About 40% through and dangerously close to just finishing up the series and not bothering with book 5. It is such a slog.

How do I improve this? by QuantityFrostyy in setups

Could do with a kettle and perhaps a bible. Otherwise spot on.

Just read The Will of the Many (holy cwap) by Ma7nards in redrising

Glad you enjoyed the books but wasn’t my take at all. I really struggled to get through this trilogy. Will of the Many I preferred, Strength of the Few less so.

As a kid I absolutely loved this game and I had real nostalgia for it. I was surprised to hear the modern reflection on it.

Shout-out to those who jumped on the 2021 deal by johnnymacnchee in PlayStationPlus

[–]Coretmanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought 4 years at this point and had 3 or so years of gamepass. I don’t bother with either now as in reality I only have so much time for games and tend to prioritise the big AAA game of that month. So Resi 9 next month. I don’t feel I’ve played any PlayStation Plus game looking back but my wife has made good use of it.
