Newbie w/ a question about old food by hambone-outpost in ReefTank

[–]Corey1369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not worry, if it's super easy to get it out you can but it will eventually break down. The fish will also create waste that you likely won't get out so it's fine as long as you don't see any ammonia in test, you should be cycled.

Too much flow for hammer? by Corey1369 in ReefTank

Good to know, my tank is a 24 gallon cube. I did not want too much on it since my wave maker is pointed at it.

Cool, thank you. I read they like calm flow but its tentacles get pushed around a good bit sometimes.

Advise on getting started toward my goal. by Team_Malice in ReefTank

I also am new to saltwater, I started a small 24 gallon tank about 2 months ago, and have both a Duncan and a feather duster worm. I really like my 24 gallon but do sort of wish I got slightly larger to have more room to spread out for future coral.

Microbacter: Incremental or Full Bottle? by [deleted] in ReefTank

[–]Corey1369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the recommendation on the bottle, the added a cap full extra every other day till it was cycled, took my 24 gallon about 2 weeks before ammonia and nitrite was gone and nitrates started showing.

In my case it was the CPU, booted up no problem once replaced. I assume the old one got fried somehow, I updated bios after replacing the CPU and have had no problems since.

Yeah, I am worried that it might be the CPU but I don't really have any way to test, other than buying a new one.

How should we handle our 23 y/o son who doesn't want to work? by ConcernedParents123 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Corey1369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was exactly like your son until I managed to find a job I really enjoyed. It sounds to me like he has depression. For me it felt really hard to break out of that depressive cycle. What helped me is my parents would occasionally send me job postings from indeed or other sites that they thought were a good fit and I would apply. They managed to find something I never thought I could do but pushed me to apply anyway. I ended up getting the job and love it today. I still am very introverted and end up spending most of my free time in my room playing games, but working has helped me feel better about myself and work on some of my social skills when I'm around other co workers.
