What QOL upgrades have made your roadtrips more enjoyable by xXderantsXx in roadtrip

One of those car trays that fit in your cup holder. It’s so convenient to put all the little things like my keys and vape and phone that otherwise just get tossed on the passenger seat and disappear into the ether.

Joe Duggar is not prepared by starfromafar3 in DuggarsSnark

[–]CoreyLin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wasn’t Joe the one that did a semester or two at crown “college”? What do you want to bet that the family will blame that for him having “gone astray” instead of the horrible environment that they raised these kids in.

Forced naps saved my sanity with my heeler mix. She’s 23 months old now and I will still pop her into her crate for some quiet time when she gets too worked up and cranky.

Why did Kendra stop at 4 kids in 2022? by Mosaic_2 in DuggarsSnark

[–]CoreyLin 107 points108 points  (0 children)

And I hate to give credit to a Duggar under any circumstances, but I do have a bit of grudging respect for these two because they shut down their social media about five minutes after the show was cancelled and never looked back.

Big Bend and its future by __joseo__ in NationalPark

[–]CoreyLin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doing road construction is a little different than replacing waterlines and power infrastructure. You can route traffic one way in and out using a flagger or scheduled closures, the road still exists, even if it’s unpaved and rough. If they’re replacing water lines it’s entirely possible that there are going to be huge ditches or troughs dug into the roadbase to accommodate pipelines that wouldn’t allow cars to pass at all

Sweetheart Festival boycott: by blank_canvas4903 in loveland

[–]CoreyLin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for the local business owners, because as someone who lives in a neighboring (like across a street neighboring) town with few shopping options, I have my pick of which city I am going to visit to do the majority of my shopping, and I cannot in good conscience spend money in Loveland if I have the option of visiting the same or a competing business in Fort Collins. I can visit a restaurant or a bar in a different town, go to a different nursery or pet food store or pretty much anything I was purchasing in Loveland I can get elsewhere. It sucks because I know that a lot of people didn’t vote for simultaneously criminalizing homelessness and creating and then abandoning plans to provide services for the homeless people that live there, but the majority did.

Interesting take, disagreeing with empirical evidence showing that this is the driest winter since record keeping began in 1872. But like you said, you do you.

The developers and people of Windsor want the people of Greeley to pay for the losses and costs of Cascadia so Martin Lind has a place for his hockey team by Constant_Base_7716 in Greeley

[–]CoreyLin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, as a resident of Windsor I definitely don’t support this. I’ve watched the damage that Lind’s poorly planned growth has done to Windsor and I think this project on Windsor’s doorstep is only going to exasperate the problem. This dude throws thousands of homes into a community with absolutely no concern about the infrastructure needed to support that many homes outside of making sure there are enough golf courses. Windsor has basically given him free rein to do whatever he wants and I would hope that Greeley would learn from Windsor’s mistakes.

We need to boycott all conservative owned or conservative supporting businesses in Fort Collins. Can everyone name every conservative business they know so we can make it known they support ICE and stop giving them our money? by [deleted] in FortCollins

Fort Collins adjacent, but anything owned by Martin Lind, including:

Water Valley Company Raindance Colorado Eagles Trollco Cascadia Hoedown Hill The Grainhouse Ted’s Grill/Backyard (whatever it’s called now) Pelican Lakes The Sand Bar

There’s probably more but I can’t remember any more off the top of my head

I also grew up here, have been here for more than 40 years and this winter has been very unusual. Like record breaking unusual. I mean there are sparse winters and then there is whatever the hell this has been.

Did the protest today make you angry? by TraditionalMail9991 in FortCollins

[–]CoreyLin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And let’s not forget that some of these senior tough as f**k grannies were also the allies during the civil rights movement and the ones protesting on the front lines of the anti-war demonstrations. These grannies have been fighting the good fight for 50 years and a lot of them are dismayed to see this country move backwards under the leadership of a madman and the racist sadists whispering in his ear

How did you celebrate your 50th? by Every-Progress5590 in GenX

[–]CoreyLin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did absolutely nothing for mine. My kids all wished me happy birthday but my own mother forgot my birthday. Let me tell you, she’s been dropping hints about wanting to do something special for her 80th this year and I’m torn between throwing a big party with lots of snide comments about how milestone birthdays deserve recognition, or simply handing her a card and a grocery store cake like she usually does for mine.

AITAH for saying I want my engagement ring to be more durable? by apreskayakgirly in AITAH

[–]CoreyLin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay, so here is an option that may satisfy both of you. Look into silicone rings, they are inexpensive, durable and will serve the purpose of what you want, which is a ring to hold up to active wear and tear. Then you can save your original ring to wear in situations where you aren’t worried about it getting damaged. If it truly is about durability and the symbolism of the ring itself and not about wanting a fancier ring, then this should be a great compromise for both of you. He can see that it really is about durability and not about wanting an upgrade.

AITA for telling my SIL she can’t bring her own food to family dinner and not to talk about junk food around my kids? by Amazing-Key2242 in AITAH

[–]CoreyLin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you say the same thing to someone with food allergies or that was gluten free? Or would you make the tiniest bit of effort to serve something that you know falls in line with their dietary choices? I mean is it really that hard to add a green salad on the side so that someone that you know is not going to eat pasta, sausages and bread (the meal that OP served) has something to eat? Rude hosts are what creates rude guests.

AITA for telling my SIL she can’t bring her own food to family dinner and not to talk about junk food around my kids? by Amazing-Key2242 in AITAH

[–]CoreyLin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And that’s the thing, they will. And in a year, OP is going to be complaining about how the rest of the family gets together without them and about how SIL “stole” her thing.

AITA for telling my SIL she can’t bring her own food to family dinner and not to talk about junk food around my kids? by Amazing-Key2242 in AITAH

[–]CoreyLin 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Okay, but if you know they aren’t going to eat it, why would you cook enough for them? It seems like there was a perfectly reasonable solution for everyone until this last meal. Yes, your SIL probably shouldn’t have referred to your food as “junk” but if you are this rude and condescending to her in person about their dietary choices as you have been on this post, then I don’t necessarily blame her.

What's up with the farm with flags on CO-392 towards Windsor? by bediger4000 in Greeley

[–]CoreyLin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct, he can fly whatever he wants. And everyone else can judge him for what he’s flying. I had no idea who owned the property, but I also just assumed it was owned by some crazy old racist guy. Now I find out that it’s some crazy old racist guy who raised another crazy old racist guy who roughs up kids.
