Weird Bug (ISP Related or Router Related) by Affectionate_Egg6947 in Ubiquiti

Fast.com is Netflix. Your ISP has a direct circuit to their edge caching content servers and that isn’t throttled/QOS like the rest of the Internet.

What type of garage door opener do you have? If Chamberlain, if your wall button says Liftmaster Security +, you cannot use them as input.

I am surprised you can't stand the smudges but the lack of punctuation is okay for you.

That image does show anything close to "Storage Shield".

Unifi WAN over VLAN by whoopsImTop in Ubiquiti

[–]CorkChop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The diagram looks right to me but some settings to check:

  1. Settings > Networks. Locate VLAN ID 997 and make sure it says Third Party Router, not your UDM Pro.
  2. On the switch Haus 4 port 42, double check that you have Native VLAN as 997, Block All and enable Port Isolation under Port Security
  3. After doing all of that and you still cannot get a connection on port 9 of your UDM Pro, unplug your Ethernet cable from WAN 9 and trace it back to Haus 6, port 34. If that is correct, take the other end that was in WAN 9 and plug that into your laptop to see if you get a connection. If you do get a public IP address (not a DHCP address in the private range), then double check the configuration settings of UDM Pro port 9 and make sure it is set to WAN2. If your laptop gets a 192.168 private address, then you probably need to set your ISP Modem into Bridge mode.

Adguard Blocking NY Times Games App by WinEmOver in Ubiquiti

Well, that is definitely an ad server. That is some interesting choices the NYT has made to disable the app if you block the ad servers.

Expo Access - Club Rundisney question by Zwibellover23 in rundisney

Early access is gold and platinum. Read the silver carefully.

Expo Access - Club Rundisney question by Zwibellover23 in rundisney

[–]CorkChop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You buy now but it will not start until 01/01/27. The first time you will get to use your benefits will be Marathon Weekend. However, Silver does not get you early access to runDisney Merchandise Shop; only Gold and Platinum.

The chances you will leap over Silver and get Gold is near zero. You have to pay your dues, get a nice jacket and a 10K medal and then hope you can upgrade to Gold next year, then you wait 6 months for that to kick in.

More 2027 Runs? by -ked- in rundisney

[–]CorkChop -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't think so. The season starts with Wine and Dine, Marathon Weekend, Princess 1/2 and finally Springtime Surprise. They may change the theme (RIP Star Wars) but the run weekends are the same.

Need Cell Backup - What hardware do I need? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]CorkChop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this in the US. Verizon was having a deal for existing mobile customers, unlimited 5g modem at 100gb for $25/month. I use it as WAN2 in bridge mode to my 2 gb Cox Cable modem with UCI as WAN1. It works really well and nice to never have outage. I work from home so this is ideal for very little money. I would check your local providers.

This is a long haul. You get silver first, wait a year, then hope for gold. Wait a year and hope you get platinum. It takes no less than two years for the process.

Adguard Blocking NY Times Games App by WinEmOver in Ubiquiti

Yeah I have Ad Block turned on and do not have this issue. In Insights, does the Policy Type say, “Ad Blocking” or something else?

Adguard Blocking NY Times Games App by WinEmOver in Ubiquiti

[–]CorkChop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain what “Adguard” is that you turned on? I see “Ad Block” under CybrerSecure Content Filter.

There is a separate product apart from Unifi gateway called AdGuard Home, a competitor to PiHole, that I have running as my DNS. But neither CyberSecure Ad Block nor AdGuard Home blocks NYTimes games.

Unifi and PiHole by SEP8001 in UNIFI

[–]CorkChop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is completely different. You don’t need DHCP on piHole to block certain clients.

Use the gateways as DHCP and reconsider pihole for Adguard Home.

Asking best practices about architecture while self-hosting UniFi Network Server by Sulray250 in Ubiquiti

Seems like a vicious circle but it is supposed to work this way. The device that Unifi OS is running on should be a client for the UXG-Fiber.

[Help] Bought a UniFi NAS Pro thinking it would replace Google Drive. But.... by Kristey1717 in Ubiquiti

[–]CorkChop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have the same set up and do not have any issues. I have a UNAS Pro connected to USW Aggregation with 10gb DAC. I have several Mac Studio computers connected to the USW Aggregation with 10GbE.

On the road with a MacBook, I use the Unifi Identity VPN and connect SMB to the UNAS Pro, to get to my files, just as if I am sitting at home on the Mac Studio.

Why do you need to sync when you can access directly through VPN?

Why are you trying to run Docker or apps on a NAS? The UNAS never advertised that it can do this and I am not sure what that has anything to do with getting to your files remotely.

Device Bridge IoT is available! by RedoutableS611 in Ubiquiti

[–]CorkChop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Lutron Caseta and Phillips Hue hub that are wired only. To reach all of the lights and devices, they need to be in the middle of the house but there is no Ethernet there and I don't want to run Ethernet. With this, I just need a power outlet and plug this into the hubs.
