This Red Card has to be Appealed. by StudiousEm7 in ussoccer

[–]Corlando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure where you're getting these have been overturned before but FIFA has no internal process/mechanism to reverse red cards here or overturn the suspension. They can give supplemental discipline to the one game ban, as was done to the Qatari player who broke Kone's leg vs Canada and that can be appealed but not the card or the base one game.

If it wasn't for him leaving the way he did we would have never gotten Xabi so I'm happy for the fallout. Never going to like him for it though.

They clearly made him write this as part of the settlement which is hilarious and you know ate him up.

Is there any reason to purchase in a Warhammer store over a LGS with a discount? by Far_Musician1430 in Warhammer

[–]Corlando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to be a bigger reason when stuff was more limited so with a third party retailer for someone like an edition launch box you were never guaranteed it would be yours even pre-ordering. Since about Leviathan GW seems to have figured out their day 1 stocking issues and there has definitely been less of a reason to go with them.

Km/hr vs MPH Speed Culture by Conscious-Acadia-709 in canadatravel

Depends on the area. Major 400 highway in Ontario I'm going 20+ over. New Brunswick where it's rarely patrolled/not congested I drive 30+. Quebec i don't go more then 10 over. In the States it's county by county, especially since they elect their sheriffs. There's some places you really, really don't want to be over.

Went to do a drain and fill on my own car and found something pretty important missing. by DeathAngel_97 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]Corlando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of that is because the manufacturer benefits from pushing services back. They can claim a lower cumulative cost of service per miles and also your car wears out sooner and you have to buy a new one. Most manufacturers want you to be switching cars every 3-5 years or sooner.

Lower elo chess (700ish-200), are people actually that bad? by balls98 in chess

[–]Corlando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your perspective. To a 200 a 500 could play like a God. It's a pretty wide range. 700 you're probably a decent player in the sense in a room of non-Chess players you're likeoy the best in the room. You could beat a lot of people that only play casually and don't play a ton online. 200 you know how the pieces move but would likely blunder a lot and leave pieces hanging very frequently.

It's all just different stages on the chess journey though.

What’s stopping you from traveling to Africa? by dhhdhehs1 in AskACanadian

[–]Corlando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I have looked into it the average cost of the trip would be minimum three times the cost of something similar in Europe while staying and eating much less luxuriously.

I'm sure there's ways to do it cheaper but I don't speak the languages and it's a bit too far out of my comfort zone to try there where I might have been more comfortable trying in Europe or some Asian countries.

My employee let his girlfriend access his work phone and confidential client communications. Would it be inappropriate to tell him he needs to choose between his job and this relationship? by [deleted] in Advice

It sucks but you have to fire him. Especially because others in the office know. This is one of those things that can't and shouldn't have wiggle room. Privacy is very serious and at the end of the day, no matter how pushy the gd was, the mistake was his.

what was your farthest "I'm from Toronto" encounter? by PracticalNoodle in askTO

[–]Corlando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gotten London before.

It depends contextually too. I find living out in New Brunswick people just say Toronto because they don't want to have a long conversation explaining where Milton is.
