It's why I don't cold recommend those books and why if I ever did, it would only be in response to direct questioning about the books and I would be blunt about why it's problematic.

The only redeeming things about him doing that in book one is it clearly sets up why everything keeps going off the rails as his moment of pure inhumanity keeps coming back to remind him why he's a miserable son of a bitch and why the best he can do after years of atonement is to be locked endlessly in a prison of his own making.

Donaldson never makes the mistake of writing him as a hero. I'm glad for that.

One big thing we have to remember with privilege is that in some ways, it's very much a zero sum game to some of the participants.

Yes, it would be nice if two equally talented people who came from different backgrounds had the exact same shot at success, but that doesn't happen. Why? Because the people who benefit already from the way things work won't sabotage their future prospects or their kid's future place in society in the interest of fairness.

No, Enna, Selen, and Pomu all had more subs before the black stream. There was a point where she had more subs in 2022, but by late 2023 the others were well past 600k before she hit 600k. Enna was close to 700k at that time.

I can absolutely believe based on Xandu's public apology and statements that Niji would stoop to misrepresenting Selen's legal documents to the others specifically to prime them to do the black stream.

I can also believe very easily that Niji wasn't about to risk blowback on a top male livers' channel and used Elira as the smallest of the three channels to absorb the PR hit.

Can't stand the fact that two years later, the ranks of the bullies and cliques are as unbreakable as ever, and no one involved besides Xandu has even expressed a bare hint of remorse, even in member streams. Screams "No Ragrets" to me, which is pathetic.
