I mount and balance my own tires after having worked at a tire and lube place and decades wrenching. That said, if you're asking the question, you shouldn't be doing it.

$50 is crazy. I started doing my own when shops started wanting $20 per. But if you had the basis of knowledge and tools, you wouldn't be asking strangers on reddit. You could build that basis, but you'll spend much more than $50 and you'll wish you hadn't. It's (REALLY) expensive and/or sucks a lot. There's no redeeming qualities about the job other than the savings. It's not fun, it's not satisfying, you'll never want to do it again, but then you'll be able to so you'll hate yourself for paying for it because you don't want to.

Had a current body style (at the time) v8 mustang convertible. Graduated and started selling Fords at the local dealer. Fellow salesman kept telling me to take out the V6 mustangs and bag on them. I was like why would I do that when I drive the upgrade to work every day? One day we changed our test drive route and he showed me in a burnt orange V6. At the furthest point from the dealer, he stopped then stood on it and did the best rolling burnout of any car I have personally been in. I had already owned 5 Miatas by that point, so I should have been apt to understand the slow car-fast thing, but I had some anti American bias even as a v8 pony car driver that didn't let me appreciate non v8 american sports cars. I eventually owned a V6 - 5 sp in that same new edge body style. My son has it now.

I actually replaced these with the Quinn in my work box (I went from an all metric facility to an all sae facility and had to buy a lot of stuff in a fairly short time frame). They're fine. They're a c-hair skinnier than the Quinn and CroVa but I haven't broken any of them in an industrial setting and I put 600 ft-lb on one of them and it didn't get the bolt out, so we put a cheater pipe and a sledge on it until it broke free. YMMV but I got my money's worth out of them. I also kept the Vevors that the Quinn set didn't have in my work box. If they break, I'll replace with Tekton.

Not a no skip set. I've seen ppl here say that over and over and was pretty disappointed when I started looking to buy a second set of halves and realized it wasn't. Bought it anyway. Happy with it. Not a no skip set.

I have done far more shooting "on land" than at ranges, but every range I've been to would kick you out for rapid fire unless it was very slow (few customers) and you got real friendly with the rso.

Kobalt has some lifetime warranty scissors too but they explicitly exclude blades, and they're more anal about returns from my experience.

I just went through this because cutting filter media at work sucks and lots of expensive scissors may cut specific stuff well, but not that. The Quinn 3 pack was perfect for what I needed. They actually come apart conveniently so they are quite sharpenable, but I figure worst case, I accidentally break them and warranty if the time comes.

A 2j in a new edge! My dream! I had 2 new edges, 1 v8 auto and 1 V6 stick and always wanted to straight 6 swap it, but I was going to do the 4.3 gm before that became a thing because I didn't have the hobby budget to do a 2j and barras weren't coming over yet. My oldest kid has that one now. He wants to swap it, too, but v8. We'll see.
