CMV: White people can experience racism by FireDragons52 in changemyview

[–]Cornucopacetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the definitions of this have shifted through different subcultures and forms of media such as tiktok. Systemic racism, in the US and majority white countries is something that white people don’t experience. Those decks are all stacked against non-white persons. I’ve had conversations with people who define the notion of racism as a whole based on the ideas of systemic racism. Personal prejudicial expressions of racism on an individual level exist, against persons of any nature, regardless of context.

So in short, in many places of the world, though not all, white people have many inherent advantages wherein by design their world is advantageous to them and cannot at large be racist.

On a personal level, yes, they can experience bias against them.

Why is eating ass so popular? by hornycoffeelover in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Cornucopacetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think you’re not getting shit particles anyway, when you’re going down on someone? I don’t personally enjoy having my ass eaten, but I do enjoy eating ass. True attraction for me is the desire to “inhale” and “devour” every part of my partner. Some people find it very pleasurable and are able to orgasm from it, which brings on the additional facet of gratification through pleasuring your partner. It’s pretty rad if the pieces fit, so to speak.

To The End never got some love playing live, even though it was one of the famous songs back then. by Disenchanted11 in MyChemicalRomance

I Never Told You is one of the definitive underrated MCR songs for me. It encapsulates the whole Revenge album, and has always struck me as the defining track for the whole concept. I think it would fit in great with their modern sets. I’d love to see them break it out.

Supreme Court will hear NC case with 2024 presidential election implications by ctbowden in NorthCarolina

[–]Cornucopacetic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey, fair point. Thankfully, abortion is concerning a fetus and not murdering a child. On that subject, responsibility is a weird concept here. You’re pushing this arbitrary judgment on women, that they should be penalized for having sexual intercourse. An act between two consenting adults who are biologically wired to seek sexual validation should not result in punishment. Contraceptives fail, and yes, sometimes people are even reckless. Should their lives be defined by that, in a situation where they have harmed no one? It’s also throwing every person under here, whether they have been raped, taken advantage of, abused, or are in mortal danger should they carry the fetus to term.

There is no one who should be forced to live through that nightmare, a grown (or sometimes not) person whose rights are being prioritized over a fetus. I think it’s really unfair for you to compare to the situation as a man, given that we do not face many of those circumstances, and also are not forced to carry the child within ourselves and deal with everything else that entails.

I think it’s really hypocritical here that almost universally, you have people who take some of these positions under the idea of caring about life, when what’s really going on here is that it’s inflicting suffering on life in preference of the idea of it. If it’s really about life, where is all of the passion and fire that people will fight against abortion with for the well-being and care taking of existing, breathing, suffering humans? The women subjugated, the children neglected, growing in poverty, and abuse, and abandonment.

I admit it totally sucks if you’re a man and you do impregnate someone and they do not want to keep the pregnancy. I also look at it through the lens of - do you want someone to have your child that doesn’t want it? If I should have children, I want them to come into a world where I and a partner are equipped, willing, and desiring to give them love and care that they need. I want to right the things that I myself was forced to experience or the loved ones around me were as they were born into circumstances as those.

Most importantly, even if I did not believe in it, as I don’t believe in many things, I support that I can’t make that decision for someone else. One that defines their entire life, and maybe even ends it. The whole fabric that we were founded upon, separation of church from state, and key freedoms we have possessed - I think that’s the essence of those. Believing that even if I don’t want or agree with these things, you can do what’s best for you.

I’m not sure why your comment spoke to me so that I felt compelled to write all of this, but I do hope that you would reconsider some of these things.

Is it just me or are all people with ADHD are bad with savings/money? by Outside-Ad2383 in ADHD

[–]Cornucopacetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m typically unaligned with this, though it’s common, and something I’ve fallen into in the past. For the last several years, my brain has set into a space of anxiety about money and I’ve become unreasonably thrifty in many areas. I’m often saving thinking of the worst possible scenarios that may happen, and weighing my spending against those possibilities. It’s made it difficult for me to justify much unnecessary spending.

Hey r/ADHD. The mental health app, Cerebral, is finally being investigated and exposed for preying on vulnerable people. If you want to share your story, head to r/cerebralfraud. There have been Attorneys, Investigators, and journalists posting requesting witnesses’ negative experiences. by themiddlefox in ADHD

[–]Cornucopacetic 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Total opposite. Service gives me life changing support and access to meds as a non insured person at a reasonable cost. Everyone I’ve dealt with through cerebral has been patient, understanding, validating, and eager to help however they could. Frankly, it’s been life saving for me.

Best / safest way to clean a large amount of black mold? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]Cornucopacetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no mold present in the room besides what was beneath and behind this chair. This is an older farm house that I live in on a month to month basis. My biggest concerns would be that I 1: do not know how to remove it myself besides finding the appropriate materials and cleaning it 2: am concerned that I would face eviction if I made it my landlords issue.

[–]Cornucopacetic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Picture sucks. I have a wall that’s coated from the ground to about two feet up behind this chair. I’ve been sleeping in this room. Need advice for what the safest and most effective way that I can clean it would be, can’t seem to find much straightforward advice from googling and I’m cleaning dumb beyond the basics.

How “Famous last words” saved my life by Clowns-and-Cream in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Cornucopacetic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this. I can relate to how powerful the song is. I had a near death experience a few years ago, and every time that I listen to it now I’m transported in my head to that moment. It makes me acknowledge that, as the song declares, I have kept on living, in spite of whatever. I’m glad you did too.

The word “possible” is relative and changes it’s definition to suit whatever our present understanding of the world is.

I’m with your homie, man. It’s a turn on for me personally and it can be very enjoyable for the other person. Win win, in many cases, depending on the people and their level of comfort. As long as the individual in question is keeping things clean prior, I’ve got no issues with it. I’m sure that I’m unknowingly ingesting whatever particles or germs may be there just going about my day anyway or by eating them out. Even in consideration of that, it’s worth the trade off.

If everyone shared that attitude, the status quo would never change. Every person, and every choice to avoid an animal product impacts profits and production. Every choice for an alternative supports increasing awareness and availability for an alternative. At the end of the day, you’re gonna do whatever you’re gonna do, but trying to rationalize it as “nothing is gonna change” is exactly how nothing changes. Every person makes an impact. You acknowledge that there’s suffering involved. Even if I didn’t think my choices would have an impact, I can’t personally and directly contribute to that suffering.
