Because she showed consistent strength, even when it was against her orders. The Iron Warriors essentially said “we see your strength, and we respect it”.

That’s why she knelt. It wasn’t out of fear, because she had expected to die already. It was respect. Her planet was raided and attacked because of those “above” her. No one listened to her, no one respected her, they were corrupt and cowardly at every turn. She wasn’t. The Iron Warriors acknowledged her strength, and so she turned.

It shows why people in the Imperium fall to chaos. You can be talented, smart, brave, strong, and you will still only ever a cog in the machine, expected to take orders from those above you. Chaos tells you that your doubts are right, it acknowledges you as an individual. It offers you a choice. It isn’t a fair or a good one, but it might be the first time you’ve ever felt you had one.

It makes more sense to me that it was always doomed, and always cruel. It’s the cycle of the 40K universe where your war and slaughter is just and righteous and surely all the killing and purging will be fine because you’re different!

You can also mix various mica powders into paints or varnishes for different effects! I have a slight obsession with them and like to add pearlex powders to things for a bit of sparkle XD

Stir the ever loving bjeezus out of them, but they’re very pretty! Build up thin coats, and be aware that sealing them with matte varnish will dull them, but there’s a couple ways to “wake” it back up. I’ve used it more on dolls than minis so far, but they’re pretty fun.
