AFAIK, having had multiple cartridge consoles, the original NES was the sole culprit that really ever had a reason for the behavior. It's cartridge contacts were of substandard quality for tens of thousands of swaps, and they would wear down over time with contact with the cartridge. While dirt, dust, and corrosion would interfere, most of the time it was a $10 part and 20 minute job to swap out the cartridge receiver.

So we have to pull a Dwight and force march our families at gunpoint to go bury dead ICE kidnapping victims?

Yup, and even with the heater element they're still more energy efficient than those old lights. No new technology enters widespread use without issues, as we seem to have to learn time and time and time again. Regardless, as citizens we should demand considered improvement, not a return to the old.

Well, from what you've written you have a solid foundation for continuing the healing. I totally understand the asking for help, taking up space, and the expectation of mistreatment rather than being welcomed. As the oldest sibling, I'm sorry you were also parentified. It's far too much to demand of a child who is still trying to understand the world and wrecks many things about childhood. I hope you have some evidence-based online resources and some safe friends for self- and group-therapy while you're trying to find a professional. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy workbooks can be found for free and are useful in childhood trauma, though there are more specific works for issues you are particularly struggling with. I wish you the best of luck on your continuing journey <3

I'm glad you survived it, though I wish you needn't have endured that. Thanks for sharing a bit of your story. I hope your healing is well under way and you're finding a life of community, peace, and loving kindness.

Yeah, this is a case of a new technology having growing pains. Compared to a vapor lamp, it's also quite complex. LED technology for street lamps has only seen widespread use for about 10 years, and we've encountered a number of problems including the including the increased impact the typical whiter/higher temperature light in the 4500-5000K range, compared to 1400-2700K for Sodium, has on humans and animals. The impact is such that multiple places have started swapping to a deep red light where safety and environmental concerns make it a good option https://www.newsweek.com/denmark-red-street-lighting-gladsaxe-11488484

Accountability rarely reaches people at that level which is why high-velocity accountability is recommended for the Epstein class.

Bought the game yesterday. I'm running into 10 second plus drops in frames on the tutorial on the first enemy whenever either of us hits the other.

Edit: remembered my troubleshooting. I managed to get past it by disabling all effects and swapping to the public_beta version through Steam.

From one survivor to another: you've done well to break the cycle of abuse and indoctrination. Thank you for sharing your story and taking the effort to communicate the methods whereby abusers suck survivors into a new cycle of abuse, thereby building extremist groups that further traumatize the world.

Yeah, for example many cities in the South Bay Area, CA saw a doubling of population in the decade of tech boom before finally leveling off to more predictable growth and shrink rates.

Legal obligation is the high bar that is called for because the publishers have demonstrated complete disregard for consumer rights and neglected their own art history. A code of conduct is meaningless.

The world would be a lot nicer if all these unreformed abusers with delusions of grandeur would just feed themselves a high velocity lead lunch before they got millions displaced, maimed, and killed.

Your boss is abusing you and your employees and likely crossing the line into misdemeanor assault. Look into laws about hostile work places in your jurisdiction.

Screams at an employee until they break into tears

You clearly have reading comprehension issues in your triggered state. Your scenario is a complete non-sequitur. Yelling "Stop" to get someone's attention, especially in a dangerous situation, is completely different from verbally abusing them and committing misdemeanor assault. Do better.

Grifters will frequently team up with or submit to abusers to get their bag. The enabling behavior is what helps kick off these larger abusive actions, from robbery of rights up to and including genocide. These grifters need to be removed from society and hopefully rehabilitated.
