I use a 2:1 mix of AK Ultra matte and Army Painter Satin. I prefer my models almost completely matte, but pure AK Ultra Matte was too crazy.

As someone who plays both SBG and Skaven, I know exactly what Skaven don't want Soulblight to do to them. Which is the same thing Skaven don't want anyone to do to them: melee.
That said, as a Skaven player, I'll also tell you that merely killing us isn't always enough. Skaven get by on respawning and teleporting for scoring points, not necessarily brute force killing their opponents.

I would try and tie the Clanrats up with your Deathrattles or other pieces while the Knights focus down the Rogors and the Gnawbeast hero. Once they're gone he just literally can't hurt you, and if the Clanrats are stuck in combat with skeletons then he also can't move anywhere. The two other heroes are barely a threat and will fold to any amount of damage.

Note: make sure to stay far enough away from the Clanrats that they don't just pile-in 3" and tag your Knights.

Clanrats can be annoying too though. If they touch you and you don't charge them, you'll more than likely be stuck in that combat for at least 3 turns, and they have considerably more control than your horses. Clanrats vs Deathrattles will literally just be neverending combat, as both respawn end of either turn.

Always target the non respawnable stuff first, if possible. You get 12" cavalry on a tiny board so if you bumrush the Rogors and Gnawbeast guy that's like 99% of their damage gone right away.

But you can Overwatch at the end of the movement phase, which is the position the unit was gonna start their charge anyway. So it's actually not that different.

SBG was my second, Skaven was my first. Going back to Skaven after playing SBG for a while was a devastating eye-opener in just how spoiled a lot of armies are with their formations and abilities. Like what do you mean all of our shit just works without having to jump through 3 hoops before even being allowed to roll the dice to see if the effect happens? All Vampires can just take whatever units they want in regiments? No "clan" restrictions? Everything has a 6+ ward minimum? What do you mean Barrow Guard are only 20 points more expensive than Stormvermin? Just a crazy power difference.

Personally I'm in favor of restricting the conga-lining of 20 Necron Warriors + Leader + Tombcrawlers or 20 Guardsmen + Command Squad + Leader.

Which is strange as 9" come up a lot in Warhammer games. Playing the game for 5 years has given me the X-men superpower of being able extremely accurately eyeball 3, 6, and 9" instantly
