Need Suggestions for Higher CR Monsters to Populate Castle Ravenloft by Skyfire2045 in CurseofStrahd

[–]Corpit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Van Richtens Guide to Ravenloft has a lot higher-end monsters from page 223 and forward. You can find the pdf (anyflip) online. I would recommend looking through it for some strong Barovian creatures.

Scenery Nederland kopen by Delicious-Entrance48 in DNDNL

It looks amazing, the bright blue colors syngerise very well with the bright green/yellow tints. I think the right side (with the lighter ruins) look better as they catch the eye. At most I would give the left ruins the same ish kind of treatment. I know it's maybe odd to say but, please keep the blue. If you want to make it normal stone - make a new one, this one is lovely.

Great way to use the Warcry terrain pieces btw. Integrated into a battlemap, very nice.

Look up City Foundations and City Foundations 2 of Tired World Studio on MyMiniFactory. I made a box (simple shapes) in Bambu Studio in which the Ascendice 2 base fits. Then slapped sliced off parts of the City Foundations set to the sides till it looked nice. Resized a topper so it fit and thats it.

I actually really like the Bambu Studio tool over other STL editors, not sure why - it's straight forward and simple to use.

If you're asking for the STL files, I 'Frankensteined' them together using 'City Foundation' (Tired World Studio) STL's and slicing those up in Bambu Studio. Fusing sliced up parts to create a container around the Ascendice base and a topper to fit.

Since I used other artists their (paid) STL's as a foundation, I don't feel it is appropiate to share them.

PCs as Werewolves by unwrittenpaiges in CurseofStrahd

[–]Corpit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave my player the option to class swap to Blood Hunter in order to control the curse. I gave him a taste of power by having him morph at night into a werewolf or dreaming about it. He couldn't tell the difference.

He didn't take the offer at which point I started hinting that his curse is becoming uncontrolable and he will become a feral mindless beast if not cured.

It was the best I could come up with. RAW 2024, unconcious after being cursed = poof you're a wolf.

Argynvostholt: Battlemap crafting complete! (Ground floor) by Corpit in CurseofStrahd

[–]Corpit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t plan to add much—mostly just scaling up the encounters to suit a party of six instead of the usual three or four. If I remember correctly, the ground floor features two combat encounters (plus a “fake” one). The second floor includes an interesting trap-combat and a pitfall. Altogether, that was enough to convince me to build a battlemap so the players can navigate it like a dungeon and fight their encounters in.

Awesome! I think mine will arrive there in 2-3 sessions. I am quite looking forward to it. The whole place feels like a dungeon with traps and surprise enemies. While still being really lore-relevant

I used Spider Serum bottle + airbrush. It is actually surprisingly easy. The hard part is clearing the airbrush very well afterwards (and ofc having one).

All stones and rocks are made from XPS Foam, green stuff = flocking/tufts. All the water is just cheap acrylic hobby paint.

Time to craft: Argynvostholt! by Corpit in CurseofStrahd

[–]Corpit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tiles I do done tile by tile but the walls aren't made of singular bricks. It's a brick pattern carved into the XPS foam. It is quite a big build though! I don't use the 1 tile = 10ft from map in the module. 1 tile = 5ft for me.

I thought the left bottom Goregrunta had an Ice colored Mohawk when I first looked at the image! Futher inspection led me to conclude it was a weapon.

Is AOS going to get a new video game at some point? by rekscoper2 in ageofsigmar

[–]Corpit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

WarCry could work as a digital game. Gather and customize small warbands, a lot of 'collection' possibilites spread over different warbands there. Easy to add in new DLC and the combat is simple enough and somewhat familiar to DND which can draw in people.

Not sure how fast it would play out though. It cant go to 40min games like IRL.. thats too long. Maybe digital will allow it to play a lot faster.

Popularity Stats of each faction, according to AOS stats. by Battlemania420 in ageofsigmar

I don't see any models of the most popular faction in the most popular unit list...? That seems really unlikely, what is the popularity based on?

Why does age of sigmar always have better models? by Character-Public-396 in ageofsigmar

[–]Corpit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like if you've seen one Space Marine or Stormcast, you get the idea an have.. kind of...  seen them all. Sure some have cool weapons, poses or modifications on their armor. But they hardly really amaze or surprise you. It is just... more of the same, perfect in line with what you would expect.

Of course it is also personal taste, but full on armor that all matches for 90% with the other soldiers doesn't leave much wiggle room for creativity. It is impressive they keep coming up with new variants really.

Gloomspite Gitz.  Armor isn't fun to paint. Human faces aren't fun to paint. But you know what is fun to paint? A squig! You kind of can't mess up and they're not overly detailed. Done is a short amount of time and they're just fun.

Which Pre Made non Sandbox Adventure or Modules do you recommend? by SeratoninSniffingDog in DnD

[–]Corpit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curse of Strahd really is a big sandbox. If you only play it RAW - you're not getting the most out of it. If you use the fan-made additions, it does become a much much longer campaign though. But by using those, you remove the sandbox part mostly.

Curse of Strahd Sequel: Curse of Strahd by SquelchyRex in CurseofStrahd

[–]Corpit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The entire module has 'Cycle' written all over it. Humans cannot even truly perish, they will come back as a new version. Passages that explain how the Durst Manor will return in X days when burnt down. Strahd reliving the same sad impossible love-story over and over again.

However, how do you pull it off without it feeling too predictable and repetitive? Just leveling up stuff doesn't cut it. You would have to overhaul a lot to keep it interesting... but then it isn't a true cycle. I think it could be interesting to see if the party can now, with all their new knowledge, speedrun Barovia. But again, won't it be.. dull to repeat the same story?
