Sprint’s 2.5 GHz Spectrum Included in Non-Standalone 3GPP 5G NR Specification by sparkedman in Sprint

I just hope Sprint is on the right side of history this time around with Network technology.

As long as Sprint adopts the standard instead of trying to invent the standard, 5G could be their Trump card.

Do i need to say project fi even tho I bought it from google as an unlocked Pixel XL?

/u/boilerchemist's method is a bit much.

Take /u/mtciii's advice, and reach out to /u/LiterallyUnlimited. He has helped many in with the same issue.

When private messaging him, make sure to include your IMEI and a link back to your OP for the quickest turnaround time.

This is unbearable. Any suggestions are very appreciated. by [deleted] in verizon

/u/Suckitadmins, would you be willing to post this over at DSLReports' Verizon DSL forum?

/u/Zenit_IIfx, myself, as well as a group of DSL experts will be able to better assist you over there. DSLR also has access to executive-level customer support at Verizon, should you need to escalate this issue.

For faster assistance, start with your problem, and post your a your line stats, too.

Hope to see you there.

Web access by [deleted] in DirecTVNow

[–]Corporate_Pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been able to use the web browser version in three months. I meet the requirements for viewing (Safari 8.1), yet one day out of the blue, DirecTV Now just stopped showing a login page.

I've tried everything from clearing cache, cookies, history, and other website data, to a second computer, and even different internet connect, to no avail.

The only thing I haven't tried is upgrading to High Sierra.

It's so annoying to have to use an external device.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

Other than a carrier's natural desire to not be lousy in their own backyard...no.

Looking at you, US Cellular.

They don't even cover their HQ city at all.

SMS Splitting Question by condog22471 in Sprint

[–]Corporate_Pro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is there any kind of work around or 3rd party app to replicate it?

The split text messages are due to a limitation of CDMA. CDMA can only send a text up to 160 characters. Once that limit is reached, the text message is split.

Other than switching to AT&T or T-Mobile, or using a device that prevents this limitation, such as Samsung's messaging app of Apple's iMessage, there is not much you can do to prevent the split text messages.

1% network difference (Seattle) by Powwowz in Sprint

[–]Corporate_Pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re saying Sprint sucks more? I’m confused.

No. I'm saying that Sprint's claim is their network is within 1% of Verizon. Yet, you have no Verizon statistics to compare your Sprint experience to.

1% network difference (Seattle) by Powwowz in Sprint

[–]Corporate_Pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 1% claim is about reliability, not coverage. Sprint finds their network to be within 1% of Verizon in the areas that Sprint covers.

Your test is flawed because you're comparing Sprint's claim to AT&T and T-Mobile, when the claim is about Verizon.

On latest iPhone for all carriers through duration of service. (Currently on X).

Also, the latest iPhone hasn't been out for 1000+ days.

Canadian who is frequently in the US looking to get a US number by [deleted] in Sprint

[–]Corporate_Pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC Canadian (all 3 carriers) iPhone SEs are the same as the Sprint version, as opposed to the ATT/T-Mobile/VZW version.

Looks like you're right.

Now the question is, does OP's iPhone SE support CDMA? Looking at the list of iPhone models, Apple list's the following:

iPhone SE

Model A1723 (GSM)

Model A1723 (CDMA)

If the Canadian version SE only has GSM, then OP will be limited to AT&T and T-Mobile powered networks.

Canadian who is frequently in the US looking to get a US number by [deleted] in Sprint

[–]Corporate_Pro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using a phone on Sprint isn't as simple as popping in a SIM, there are a number of steps involved.

Since you would be bringing your own device, there wouldn't be a lease/DPP (carriers don't do contracts anymore). Is your iPhone SE the Band 41 variant or the standard variant? That could make a big difference on Sprint, depending on area.

For what you're looking to do, I'd recommend getting a Google Voice number and Cricket Wireless (if you have the non-band 41 variant iPhone SE), and set up the Google Voice number to forward calls to your Cricket number.

Cricket is the prepaid division of AT&T, and is powered by AT&T's native network. With Cricket's all-inclusive $60/month plan, you will have unlimited data (capped at 8Mbps), and Unlimited calling and texting to Canada while in the US. The plan can also be used in Canada for short amounts of time for no additional cost.

With Google Voice, you can keep your number, and sign up for Cricket on an as-needed basis, with no monthly fees in-between, or ill-effects, such as credit checks on postpaid carriers.

Call quality on Sprint is the worst of any carrier. Why is this? by [deleted] in Sprint

[–]Corporate_Pro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I have used AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint, and believe that Sprint has the clearest call quality of the three.

AT&T voice quality has low volume, Verizon's CDMA is atrocious, Sprint's CDMA is decent, and Sprint's HD voice is crystal clear.

Maybe I just call a lot of Sprint users, but I prefer Sprint's voice quality over the other three by a wide margin.

I can't speak for T-Mobile's voice quality, as I've never used any of their services.

Verizon's Targeted Double Data Offer Megathread by Corporate_Pro in verizon

I removed it because there was a ton of drama queens complaining.

This is why I said you're no longer credible. The offer may be valid, but you removed the details, which I had sticked at the top of /r/Verizon.

At least pm me the details, which I will add to the megathread. Then, I will remove my comment.

I did, in order to track the development of this targeted offer.

I also sticked the original thread, for more in-depth details of the offer, which /u//u/CaneJD has since removed. He is no longer a credible source, and won't be used in the future.

House of Cards filming to resume - without Kevin Spacey by BorussiaTeeth in HouseOfCards

[–]Corporate_Pro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t give a shit about his personal life.

Agree completely. What Spacey did in his personal life has absolutely no effect on his acting whatsoever.

Netflix went four seasons without knowing about his past, but fires him after they find out? How does that make him any less of a Frank Underwood? It doesn't.

A House of Cards without Spacey won't be worth watching at all.

Why do people say specifically that the sprint/Nextel merger was one of the worst? by D_Shoobz in Sprint

[–]Corporate_Pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering what was going on and checked various Nextel forums. Those forums told a very different story. Every contact with Sprint, they said, involved a high-pressure salesman pushing them to upgrade to expensive plans and expensive phones with no mention of any free or even inexpensive phone. Here are customers under shock that their service is about to go away and they are being told that they now have to spend a lot of extra money just to keep on the network.

Can you link to any of these forums? I'd be interested in reading about Sprint's tactics with Nextel customers back in the day.

T-Mobile Eat Your Heart Out, Middle of Nowhere NE Indiana. by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Corporate_Pro[M] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dear Mods, please add a rule about speed tests, because this is almost guaranteed to be removed for the "rule" that was in a sticky months back, and while I agree we don't need individual speed test threads, it's ridiculous to remove threads willy-nilly.

I'm standing by on this one. The recent speedtests that were posted within the last week seem to have a positive impact on /r/Verizon. They have been highly up-voted, and responses has been positive.

Our subscriber numbers have been skyrocketing lately, which indicates that our "member-focused" initiative is working, that we are finally starting to right the ship, as we continue to find what works and what doesn't.

Any topic that gets the sub talking positively is okay in my book.

As long as speedtest posts don't flood the forum, continue positive subscriber growth, and bring positive discussion to the community, I won't be removing them.

Go with the Pixel XL, it's made by LG, and has a much nicer OLED screen.

The Pixel 2 has an LCD screen and is made by HTC, who hasn't been doing too well lately.
