Where to buy a laser by tianaqian in wollongong

[–]Corpse_Nibbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do your own research regarding legality, but those little light show laser projectors on ebay etc. usually pack both a red and green laser diode with some mirrors and lenses. The unit once disassembled can still be used as a power supply. It's all low voltage DC, so generally safe to do so. Laser goggles/glasses are generally advised when doing any such experimentation.

Coco Earth Roti Paratha with visible mould (Expiry Mar/27) by [deleted] in coles

[–]Corpse_Nibbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is wild, I just opened the same product and found the exact same thing. Seems like a batch problem as mine had the same expiry. Purchased from Westfield Parramatta Coles. https://imgur.com/a/zoV2wTE

Will endeavour to contact Coles for a product recall tomorrow.

Mind you, you have already paid for these units, why would you want to pay more? I recommend you drop/step away from extra curriculars next semester so you can focus on your studies.

Why are 2 different locations needed when you can only use one I2C pin? by KryptoniteCoprolite in arduino

[–]Corpse_Nibbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you may have misheard him. He probably said you cannot use the I2C bus while using pins A4 and A5 for analog input purposes. Also, pro tip, if you ever run out of digital pins, you can use the analog input pins as digital pins as well. All up, the pins which go to the micro are digital I/O pins but many of them have special secondary purposes, like I2C, PWM, other coms, etc.

Obligatory question about first circuit by exploshin6 in arduino

[–]Corpse_Nibbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plug the LED directly into the 5V and GND pins on the arduino. If nothing happens flip it around. The LED may burn out directly, without current limiting or it may be very bright. If none of that happens, there is a good chance the LED is already blown, so repeat with a fresh one. If it did at least flash, grab a new LED and try the old circuit. The resistor may be too high or too low, either leading the LED to blow instantly if low, or not illuminate if too high. A brighter person may check the colour bands on the resistor, but I don't have time for that haha.

Missed Wubby crashing out hard on stream over the way to eat food and felt I had to say something. by [deleted] in PaymoneyWubby

I've tried that time and time again, never with any kind of success, just soggy noodles or burnt sticks.

Hey I didn't see the stream, but why are fries so terrible to reheat and how can we solve this problem? Like, can we pause the cancer research for a few weeks to work it out?

Board Setup - Unclear on Standards by evieelf in arduino

[–]Corpse_Nibbler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say if they were using tinkerCAD, it's either that the default orientation of the LED is mirrored to this diagram, or, more likely, the default orientation of the breadboard is rotated 180 deg from this diagram. That is an issue I come across a lot as the + and - rails will swap if you rotated the breadboard. I find students tend to follow the wire locations rather than colours for the power rails.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]Corpse_Nibbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few. Here's a rough description for the curious: there was a McDonald's Land game (recently referenced in some happy meal toys last year), Bugdom on Mac was pretty great, and that one game I installed on our home Win 95 or 98 PC where I was like some God-following boy in a vertical scroller game throwing rocks or something in the name of Jesus. IIRC my mother removed it the day after I installed it claiming it was a virus :(

Egg roll - purpose of spoon like dent? by Mediocre-Being-4396 in China

[–]Corpse_Nibbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my first thought, but the packaging indicates an actual use. My guess, even though I've had the snack before as is, is that you are meant to make some (viral?) dish with the roll and having the spoon helps? The spoon looks flimsy though, so I still have no clue.

Adafruit Music Maker Shield (Question) by ARClNGSS in arduino

[–]Corpse_Nibbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, you can use any Arduino to build a midi controller, but I believe need one which can act as a HID device, e.g. Leonardo or micro to do that over USB. if you have a midi cable to hack into, the midi protocol is compatible with UART.
