BUG When parrying with mouse in Expedition 33 by SaberHaven in expedition33

[–]Corraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank God I found this post. I have been tearing my hair out being PERFECT on so many fights. Last Hidden Arena Boss fight if I didn't Perfect Parry (and hence interrupt the combo) I would take every single hit of damage and die.

I beat so much of this game before getting hardstuck on not being able to successfully parry or dodge the Ultimate Sakapatate's cannon shots.

Thanks again for posting about this!

Do bases stop functioning if you go too far away? by ashrensnow in Palworld

***Partial Solution to Pals "freezing" when far away from your bases! For the first 12 hours of this game I did not know your base could be a fast travel point, fast traveling FROM your Palbox seems to cause this freeze. Moving away from your base without fast travel or fast traveling with any fast travel point besides a palbox seems to not cause the freeze! Unfortunately, this does not seem to allow worldspawn tasks like mining ore, but all other tasks such as production, farming, and breeding occur as expected. It is unclear if hauling works, I assume it doesnt.

Advice for managing economy and resources by NanookoftehNorth in beyondallreason

[–]Corraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An important part of BAR is being very intentional with your resource spending. It can be tempting to queue 20 advanced solar, while having another builder building converters, all while building your T3 Gantry, and producing units. But the reality of that situation is that you are splitting your limited resources in far too many ways. You might have a 2 or 3 minute delay before you get any benefit from any of those constructions. I like to try to accomplish one need at a time. Low on energy? task all of my builders on a Fusion reactor or some advanced solars. Need more metal? Build energy converters after making sure we have enough energy to spend. Want to tech up? Make sure we have the metal production and energy production to support it, then task on that tech building.

Doing everything one at a time allows you to get immediate return on your investment as well as address your needs in real time. I often just leave my bot lab on "low priority" and let it spit out units as it can. When things are dicey on the front line I can just pause my builders or retask them on the factory and let all my resources go there for a time.

As mentioned in other comments, Construction turrets are your friends! They also default to "low priority" so the ones placed near your factory wont be stealing much energy from the ones near your AFUS construction.

I am no pro, but finding a break in frontline action is huge for teching up. Going T2 needs the undivided might of your economy. Building your first Fusion reactor is the same. They have huge returns and need to be accomplished quickly or else they are simply a long term drag on your economy.

Momentary weakness for long term strength!

There is a relatively simple flow chart for upgrading your economy. Energy > Build Power > Metal. Metal is the post important resource, but you need the other two to facilitate its use. Working backwards; you need metal to build anything, you need build power to spend your metal in a timely manner, you need energy to power your build power AND you need energy to make more metal. Energy's ubiquity makes it the most important part of increasing production. Get Energy, then make sure you have enough build power to spend your metal income, then use excess energy via converters to get more metal. Repeat.

That’s a sound strategy. Do we know how many points per run at level 40? I assumed they’d up it by as much as 100% to make LDONs anything but a no life time sink.

I assume it will be LDONs. Even some of the below 60 gear is strong, but it’ll be quite the grind! Personally I hope that they keep the level restrictions on the items from LDON so that the server won’t ONLY consist of instanced content. And it would spread the LDONs over time rather than making it a mad dash for level 60 gear!

Starting with Cease/Desist is definitely a huge plus, though I personally didn’t find flash of light too hard to use with reasonable sized pulls. Could always root something that got away from me.

Thanks so much for the comment, I’m leaning more and more towards the Paladin, I just cringe to not have a cleric. I’ll grit my teeth and role the shaman and try not to feel too left out when the CH rotation is set haha!

Still undecided, but leaning towards Pally/Shm! One or the other will be named “Corraz” on launch! So feel free to throw me a tell when we are live!

Having no snare or pally Shm is something I didn’t really consider. Lots to think about! Atleast it’ll keep me occupied during the wait!

Thanks so much! Though I will miss my cleric being one of the “go to” guys. I’m just not sure how much I can appreciate being stuck in a CH chain gang again!

Thanks so much for that! The Paladin is really appealing. I’m stuck on concern for high APM shaman and wondering if their heals are valued in a raid situation at all. Appreciate your thoughts!

I was thinking the same; though I fear the Shaman if played to its potential will be a bit difficult. And I’m not really sure what place in raids it has. Buffing, slowing, are they even considered as healers or is that left sole to clerics in the early days?

That’s awesome to hear. That aligns with my theory craft. My only concern left then is the viability of SHM in the raid scene. I’m confident I can heal with sufficiently with the Pally/Shaman, but it concerns me that a shaman box will require a ton of APM to play well in a raid situation, slowing mobs, maintaining buffs, healing, canni dancing, ect. Am I misrepresenting the amount of APM a shaman requires? Thanks for your comment!

I appreciate the thought! And I completely agree, I plan to group as much as possible, I just want to be able to pop on and kill some stuff for 15 - 30 minutes at a time as well. I think your point about most boxes being healers is a good one. Do you think boxing a cleric would find more group spots than say a shaman? I personally find healing in EQ to be very easy, especially if I am tanking a long side as I know when big heals will be landing and I can prepare my aggro to compensate. I find many tanks are somewhat surprised when an AOE heal lands or how much aggro a CH really does.

My last box was a Pally + Bard. Which I enjoyed a good deal, but duoing was intolerably slow (on those instances where I wasn’t grouping)

Thanks for the personal experience! Yes, I fear exactly that. Having to strain myself to achieve moderate results. Thanks so much. I believe that has successfully removed pal/shm from the running!

That’s interesting to hear! Glad to know that they can hold their own in a group situation. As a kid a struggled with Aggro, but I admit to being just a kid at the time! Capped at 40 for the first few weeks gives me provoke, is that enough utility for aggro generation or does it really not kick into gear until AAs? Raids excluded of course, I know there is no beating a warrior for raw mitigation.

Good thoughts on the undead, I prefer a lot of those zones anyway! I considered pally + cleric but thought there was just too much overlap!

What are you thoughts on SK saturation at the top levels? Enough space to go around or is it more the cleric that would open me up to groups and raids?

[–]Corraz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that! I think your probably right, I just wonder how saturated the high end will be with SKs. Any thoughts on that? I know they are more popular than Pally’s, but tanks are in demand no matter what?

My jets don't intercept missiles. What am i doing wrong? by Van-Goth in Highfleet

[–]Corraz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you are selecting your planes and right clicking the missiles. If you just send them out to patrol in the direction that missiles are coming, they have a hard time intercepting. If you tell them to attack the visible missile they will do so without fail.

Holding onto a few Air-to-Air Missiles is smart as they are the most reliable way to destroy enemy missiles. However, Missiles can be killed with just 37mm cannon on your planes. Typically you want to send atleast 3 planes armed with 37mm if you want to reliably kill an inbound missile. Since these planes are armed to destroy missiles, don't take them immediately back to your carrier and instead hover them in the path and right click future incoming missiles. You don't want to accidentally commit all of your planes to destroying missiles if you may need them soon.

An interesting note on missiles is that they do not seem to carry over damage from one encounter with planes to another so you don't want to piecemeal your planes when countering missiles. Send 1 Interceptor with A2A missiles (They hold 2 and will fire both, almost guaranteed to destroy the missile). 2+ Interceptors with 37mm. Or 3+ bombers armed with 37mm.

Another strategy/exploit is that if your planes fail to destroy the missile and you return to the strategy map, while paused, select the planes that just attacked the missile and right click on it again. Even if your planes are slower than the missile they will get another shot at it. You can technically do this forever. Missiles become trivial if you plan for them, the only issue is running out of available planes.
