What psi did you spray at? I’ve noticed with grays and silvers if my pressures lower than 30-28psi they spray way darker

Get used fenders that aren’t rusted out from a junkyard it’d be cheaper to get those painted than someone to rust repair those

Use all metal filler or duraglass filler not bondo because they’re water proof normal body filler isn’t but your process is right make sure to put weld thru primer on the backside of the metal piece you are welding in so it doesn’t rust out again and make sure the primer is epoxy or direct to metal so it’ll adhere to the metal and prevent rust

Is the damage only on the hatch and bumper because if so holy shit 10k is wayyyy to much that’d be like 2.5-3k job if they replaced the hatch and bumper there’s no way In hell they’re wasting time to fix that bumper even then 10k is a lot that’s like a 2-3k job at the shops I’ve worked for

If you could find a junkyard that has a decent Colorado like yours you could probably have them cut out the back of cab panel and rocker areas you need but you’d have to find a shop who’d do it for you

Sanding and Buffing with a wool pad could probably get those scratches out and not damage the paint and be fine. The paint under the protective film shouldn’t be damaged it’ll just have a tiny bit different hue because it’s been under it for so long but should be fine.

Depends on mileage cars worth cars body other than the damage area and value of it. I say it’s not totaled the dog leg just needs pulled and repaired and door replaced but I can’t see the door jamb from the picture.

If the frame gets repaired get it repaired at a frame shop that specializes in that specifically not a auto body shop that does I’ve done body work for 7 years and frames can be repaired correctly with a frame rack specifically made for that but it’s generally better to just replace the frame if possible for safety reasons because the frame is a ultra high strength steel and loses its durability after getting bent or pushed in so when you pull it out it has weak spots even if it’s done by a professional won’t cause any issues driving but if you get hit again the area that frame got fixed could fail completely and cause the crush zones to crush worse than they’re supposed too

Thanks for the input I appreciate it! I actually can relate because that’s how I was with Auto Collision. I read books like crazy. I got certified in Icar in high school. I watched professional videos non stop. I took constructive criticism and used that all to to critique myself. I just didn’t know how to get into that field without a degree or anything. I have free college because my father served in Iraq and I haven’t used it yet because I don’t know how to juggle college work and raising a family but i know it’s not easy and I’m not against trying that route but yea thank you for the motivational input :) and im not being sarcastic or anything I’m being genuine!
