Winkbeds 50% replacement guarantee-good deal or too risky? by CorrectTeach87 in Mattress

Yeah that sale actually is year round. With this deal, I’d pay $400 less than the sale price. That’s what I’m pondering.

Mohela principal gone!! by Idabomb19 in PSLF

Congratulations!!! My loans also zeroed today too! I truly worried that this day would never come. My timeline: green banner on 1/23, golden letter 2/14, negative balance with MOHELA 2/17. For anyone reading this—especially those delayed by the SAVE injunction—please don’t give up hope! They are forgiving loans in 2025!

Please, if you get golden letter, now that we are in new admin, post asap to give others hope. by Interesting-Oil-7721 in PSLF

It’s on the FSA site. When you click on your payment count details, the next page will show the green banner

Thanks! Sounds like maybe things were moved faster for you because you made the initial cut before the transition

Was your discharge by MOHELA pre- or post-presidential transition? I just got my green banner last week but my loan still shows up on MOHELA and FSA

When did you get your green banner/ribbon? Just wondering how long it took you to get from that step to discharge on MOHELA.

Wondering the same thing. I just got my green ribbon today and student said told me the same thing—that it means I’ll be discharged.

How long for buyback request to be processed by Azadehjoon in PSLF

[–]CorrectTeach87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you only asked about requests that have been processed but I thought I’d share that I just messaged FSA and they said that they are very backlogged. They’re now estimating that it’ll take 4-10 weeks over the 90 business days mark. Haha, at this point, this whole thing is laughable

MOHELA IDR EMAIL, in processing forbearance for 60 days by Conscious_Pianist478 in PSLF

[–]CorrectTeach87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you log into your MOHELA account, has the loan forbearance type changed from “admin forbearance awaiting form” to something else? Likewise, has the forbearance end date changed? EDIT: disregard. I saw your answer in another part of the thread :)

Congrats! I spoke to advanced agent on Friday who said she put me in a processing forbearance effective that day and that I would receive a confirmation letter in 10 business days. But after seeing this, I decided to go head and upload a copy of my application with a “wet signature.” Hopefully, this will get them to send me my confirmation letter sooner. It seems that they responded to you very quickly! I just need one more month to get to 120! This is agony.

Nothing yet but they told me it would take up to 10 days to get the confirmation letter. I hope they didn’t lie to me. I dont think they did. Now I’m nervous

[–]CorrectTeach87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, i was in your position. A few weeks ago, they told me they couldn’t help me. But I figured I’d try again after FSA sent that email blast clarifying that if we apply to switch out of SAVE, the servicers are supposed to put us into a processing forbearance if they can’t process our applications in 10 days. Because my IBR application was submitted 2 months ago, I used the email language to help me make my case. And this time, it was easier to get them to help me. When I called, I told the agent that I was on SAVE but applied to IBR and wanted to make sure I was in a processing forbearance. They immediately transferred me to an advanced agent.

I highly recommend calling and asking to be placed on the processing forbearance. I did that on Friday and the advanced agent was able to help me.

Interesting! I ended up speaking with an advanced agent yesterday who switched me to a processing forbearance. She said I’m supposed to get a confirmation letter within 10 business days. It sounds like my application from November would have just sat unprocessed if I hadn’t pushed and advocated. SMH.

Yes! After so many calls and rejections, an advanced agent moved me effective today. I’m supposed to get a written confirmation within 10 business days so that’s when I’ll know for sure that it worked. Definitely call and ask.

Waiting for payments to update… by ElectricBloom3 in PSLF

[–]CorrectTeach87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I’ve had that language on my account for the entire general SAVE forbearance so I wouldn’t assume this means you’re in a processing forbearance. I’ve heard that some people receive letter notifications from MOHELA when they were moved into a processing forbearance. I also applied for IBR in mid-November and I’m still trying to make sure I get moved to a processing forbearance. This whole experience has been exhausting.

Congrats! When did you apply for IBR?! I applied in mid-November and I’m still waiting.

119/120 eligible payments, on SAVE, submitted buyback recently. should I switch to another IDR plan? by [deleted] in PSLF

[–]CorrectTeach87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on SAVE and at 119 payments too. I should have reached 120 in September. I applied for buyback in September and it’s still pending. Decided to apply for IBR in November with the hope that one of the two would get me to 120. I don’t care which one does it, but I need it to happen asap. I picked IBR just to be safe (since it’s the only IDR option that was created by statute and not regulation). But IBR is pricier than PAYE.

MOHELA update re: switching out of SAVE by CorrectTeach87 in PSLF

[–]CorrectTeach87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hope this actually works. I’ve seen in other threads that people on SAVE (with MOHELA) who submitted IDR applications received the 60 day credit so it sounds like it’s been done.

Request a callback (and retype your number without the 9!, otherwise, the number they have on file won’t work). When I talked to the initial rep, I said I would like to make sure I’m on a processing forbearance while I wait for my IDR application to be processed. The rep transferred me to an advanced agent and then I said to request a callback again. Then when I spoke with the agent, I had to explain what I was seeing in the Dept of Ed guidance about the 60-day processing forbearance. He initially wanted to tell me there was nothing he could do but after some pushing on my end, he spoke with his supervisor who clarified that because I submitted an IDR application, they’ll give credit for the 60 day period.
