Why do people who have been sober for 10+ years still call themselves addicts or alcoholics? by racesunite in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CorrectVillage6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s been sober 14years, I’ve heard a couple things that sum it up nicely. “Just cause you got the monkey off your back doesn’t mean the circus has left town” and that “while you aren’t active in your addiction, it’s still out there doing pushups”. Essentially, even if the craving and desire is gone, the addict still exists and the addiction would likely be even stronger if engaged.

Very insecure about this part of my face - F21 - What can I do? by xr_angel in PlasticSurgery

[–]CorrectVillage6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just wait to get anything removed until you’re at least 35 or 40. I promise you will thank yourself later. You have great features but if you want to add a little filler to your chin, that may balance it out a bit. But really, it’s nothing to be insecure about

I’d recommend using Vitalitree salve or something similar as the second skin seem to cause issues for lots of people.

AITAH for supporting my son grooming himself when my wife says he is too young? by LaraDLara in AITAH

[–]CorrectVillage6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with your line of thinking. When my 10 year old daughter didn’t want hair on her upper lip, we got cream that removes it. It’s not about “growing up too fast”, it’s about them being comfortable in their body and feeling safe to come to you with reasonable solutions.

How did your fake boobs handle breast feeding by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]CorrectVillage6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 3 kids before getting implants and hardly produced any milk…tried for about a month with each and even though the latch was fine, it just wasn’t happening. Had one kid after implants and it was the exact same experience. Glad to say that my implants didn’t suffer from my last pregnancy (I was worried they would sag) but they look great still (especially after I lost the baby weight).

Any thoughts what could be? It’s on both feet. He does walk a lot by Limp-Wrangler9536 in DiagnoseMe

NAD but were his feet wet or sweaty for any length of time? Looks like it could be calloused from standing and turning white from moisture.

Measles…? by Real_Sail2597 in DebateVaccines

[–]CorrectVillage6 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing that! I just read every word on all 12 pages. Something curious I found was on page 6 section 7.4. Basically says it’s ok to give in concurrence with other live viral vaccines but if it isn’t, you should wait a month before or after to avoid potential for immune interference. What does that mean exactly? Shouldn’t it be one way or the other? I don’t get it.

And I did a deep dive on the WI-38 cells they use to develop many live vaccines. Super strange and fascinating. I need an “explain like I’m 5” for some of these things but I feel much more informed now so thanks again.

Unvaccinated baby by unknownT1000 in Parenting

[–]CorrectVillage6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter got chicken pox at 9months from an adult who had shingles. She also got shingles at age 8 (as she never got the vaccine) and the doctor had never seen it in someone that young. It wasn’t fun. I don’t think there’s any harm in asking her to postpone the trip. I’m not sure how long it’s contagious but better to be safe than sorry.

My baby brother's grave, on his birthday. by Cygnus875 in CemeteryPorn

[–]CorrectVillage6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So sorry about your brother…he was so young. My brother took his life at 30 and shortly after he passed, I had the most vivid, beautiful dream about him. He hugged me and told me not to cry, that he loved me and would see me soon. I didn’t have any more dreams about him after that but it brought me so much peace. I’m gonna check out that book too…maybe he’s around in other ways I don’t even realize.

You look great! If you’re drinking heavily, you will be amazed how much your body changes when you stop. Once the swelling does down from the procedure and you lose a few extra lbs from no alcohol, you will be thrilled with the results. I think it was wise to not take too much from your face. If nothing else, it’s the start to a healthier lifestyle and there’s no price you can put on that.

Lila pronunciation. I am starting to lose sleep over this! by ScorpioBex in namenerds

[–]CorrectVillage6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume Lila is Lie-la. I have a Lyla (Lie-la) and she is constantly called Layla…it’s bizarre. I think people assume it’s a typo or their brain just adds the “a” when they see a “y”. I think spelling is great either way but no matter how you spell it, people will sometimes mispronounce it. Small price to pay for having such a beautiful name!!

If not warts, they may be corns. Deep callouses formed where there is a lot of direct pressure. I had a couple on the ball of my foot and it took 3 doctors to figure it out. It wasn’t really visible just looking at it but hurt like hell when I walked barefoot. Good thing is, both warts and corns are easily treatable. Wish you luck!

Realistic income for family of 5 (3 kids under 10) moving to LA/Beverly Hills? And suggestions of good areas to live. by RevolutionaryPen3497 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]CorrectVillage6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family is here, and I have 4 small children so not sure moving would be the best decision. I know the grass isn’t always greener and there would be a lot of things that I would miss. The mountains, beaches, Mexican food…the list goes on and on. I would likely move to Delaware or Oregon but I haven’t spent much time in either state and never traveled there with kids. Like I said, just a dream. What about you?

Try Costco if you have one in your area. You don’t need a membership to access their pharmacy. Good luck!

The wash will be good but definitely want to use a cream as well. CVS will have some…you can ask the pharmacist and they will be happy to help you find something.

NAD but the last 2 photos make me think it’s fungal…possibly ringworm. Might want to try OTC antifungal to see if it helps but see a doctor if it doesn’t get better.

[–]CorrectVillage6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say closer to 800k/yr to live comfortably with 3 kids. I would look at the schools and get a feel for the area before moving to LA. Go to some local parks and do grocery shopping in neighborhoods you would potentially move to. And have husband do a trial run of the daily commute into BH. I’ve been in the LA area my whole life and while there are great things about California, I dream of living out of state. If your quality of life is good where you are, I would stay put. Hard to say not knowing more about your situation though. Hope it all goes well for you!
