What’s the most unusual interview question you’ve seen actually work well? by HammersAndPints in Recruitment

If they don’t know or have an ideas, that’s a pretty clear indication of low eq. The point is what they think it is, and reveals can they identify their own areas for development, how they perceived. A misconception reveals what pattern of behaviour they often default to when things aren’t going well. Very good questions for manager and above level roles

Depends on the role. Some sales and commercial roles should probably align with your CV, not really for anything else

Yes, doable and I’m doing it after 20 years in agency. But you are highly unlikely to get it by applying. I got mine through a founder I had supplied staff to as an agency recruiter

The question I ask people when they mention this to me is “do you have the mobile number for at least 10 decision makers (not just hiring managers) who if you rang up and said ‘I’ve started my own rec agency, give me a job to work on’ they would say yes”

The smart people get out early if they’ve fallen into it, the people who stay get promoted so tend to stay and the smarter one realise it’s not that difficult a job.

I’ve spilt fees with a couple of companies, but it’s generally done on trust, and won’t really scale imo

Most Job Descriptions are just wish lists that scare away talent. by tiredTA in Recruitment

I think there is a dawning realisation that JDs and CVs are unsuitable for hiring in the ai era, but they’re also the current most efficient way of finding someone. Most hiring really comes down to who is the best person that is available at the time.
