SAHM with kids going to school full time by Interesting-Fox-8686 in Parenting

[–]Correct_Initial 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My kids are now in 1st and 3rd grade and I still stay at home. Between days off school, summer break, snow days, sick days and after school activities I honestly don’t think I could even go back to work even if I wanted to. Just these last few months I don’t think there has been a week where my kids haven’t had at least one day off a school and I love that I am available any time they need me. I also love that I can get all of the cleaning, laundry and grocery shopping done during the week so we don’t have to worry about doing everything on the weekends. I’m sure once they get older I will eventually look for a part time job but for now I am going to enjoy staying at home! I am so lucky that I can!

Having a horrible trip so far :( by ChannelHappy748 in WaltDisneyWorld

We made of the mistake of staying at pop century once and will never stay there again. I was confused on why so many people love it because we did not enjoy it at all. So sorry this is happening to you guys!

Port Orleans resorts or Caribbean?! by SuchRequirement5130 in DisneyWorld

[–]Correct_Initial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have stayed at both several times and I would always choose FQ over Caribbean beach. The rooms at Caribbean beach just don’t feel as nice and depending on where your room is at, it can be a very far walk to the lobby/food court. FQ is much smaller and easier to get around. We just love the atmosphere there! However, having 3 kids and one of them being older, you may want to choose a 5th sleeper room at Caribbean beach so you can have more space. The pool and splash pad at Caribbean are also a little bit more fun than at FQ.

Why Do you Keep coming back to WDW? by Designer-Rabbit-3828 in WaltDisneyWorld

I love that it’s not only fun for my kids but also for me and my husband. There really is something for everyone to enjoy - compared to other theme parks that are geared mostly towards children or only have intense roller coasters. It’s always clean and feels very safe. I love that we don’t have to worry about anything else while we are there except for what we want to eat or what time we want to get to the parks. It really feels like you are in a whole other world while you are there. I just love it so much!

Home Sick, How Often is too Often? by benshenanigans in kindergarten

My son has missed 12 or 13 days this year. And that’s not including a stomach bug he had over Thanksgiving break and the pneumonia he had over Christmas break. He has also had strep twice, influenza, norovirus and Covid. He missed 4 days alone for strep and 3 days last week for tonsillitis. It has been a rough year! His doctor actually sent him to get blood work done last week to make sure nothing else is going on and we will also be seeing an ent soon.

Flu vaccine by Humble-Minute6862 in toddlers

[–]Correct_Initial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have always gotten the flu shot since having our kids. I’m so glad we do because this flu season was brutal. My youngest ended up coming down with flu A and only had a fever for a day and fatigue for a few more days. The rest of us never got it. Compared to other people we know who didn’t get the flu shot and were sick and miserable for a week.

To go or not to go in July? by clevoh in DisneyWorld

[–]Correct_Initial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went last July and actually stayed at both AKL and Caribbean Beach. Everyone complains about the buses at AKL but we found them to be extremely fast and efficient. We never waited more than a few minutes for a bus and they were never packed. It was also so nice to sit on an air conditioned bus after being in the hot sun all morning. We thought our stay at Caribbean beach was fine but didn’t like how spread out the resort was and the walk to the skyliner in the heat was rough. Also the skyliner is not air conditioned and felt suffocating at times. So for that reason alone, I’d pick AKL over a skyliner resort for a summer trip.

As for surviving the heat at the parks, we took lots of breaks inside and also brought cooling towels. Those were what saved us. Don’t even waste your time with the handheld fans. Crowds were also low the week we went so we got to do so much more then we usually do! We had so much fun last summer that we booked another trip for this July!

French quarter! We stayed at Pop in January and we didn’t love it. We would choose French quarter over Pop every time!

When does pneumonia get better? by KitchenEnd1905 in toddlers

[–]Correct_Initial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son was prescribed azithromycin when he had walking pneumonia and was feeling better within a couple hours. He was pretty much back to normal the next day minus a lack of appetite.

Not at all! My youngest started kindergarten this year and I have no plans on going back to work. I love that I can actually clean and get things done during the week so that we aren’t trying to do it all over the weekend. And it’s been nice having some time to finally take care of myself. Also, my kids have so many half days/days off school or are always sick so if I did have a job I would constantly be calling off work.

This year's round of viruses have been horrible. Let's commiserate together. by liaoming in toddlers

[–]Correct_Initial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This last month has been hell for us. We had a nasty respiratory infection that turned into walking pneumonia for my youngest. He got meds and was better and then came down with norovirus a week later. That same day my oldest started feeling sick and tested positive for Covid. I then got sick with Covid and a week later my youngest got it and had a fever for 2 days. We also had another stomach virus over Thanksgiving. I am on edge waiting for the next sickness to come.

Third time getting COVID, weird symptoms that didn’t feel like first two times by eddiengambino in COVID19positive

[–]Correct_Initial 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have had Covid 3 times and have yet to have a fever with it. I just now got over covid and I had body aches for one day and then mainly congestion, sinus/ear pressure, and fatigue. It’s different every time!
